Pullstart 62,905 #17056 Posted September 18, 2022 @Heatingman that steering fan gear is the only other one I’ve seen with the holes in it. I’m not saying it’s rare, I just haven’t seen them much before.. I think your build deserves it’s own thread, so it won’t get lost in here! 5

I want to do similar on my machine, and what material did you use for the pole? Conduit, copper, etc…? And does the wiring travel within the conduit? I used 1.5" PVC with the wiring inside and tapped into the tail light for power. The PVC slid inside steel conduit that was used on my rear weight /SMV sign bracket. 4
oldblue1993 98 #17058 Posted September 19, 2022 Today I pulled out a winter project, both 701's have the dreaded 3rd gear issue. Well one is gonna be the guinea pig this winter and get the transmission opened up and see if I can repair one of em. 5

Getting into a Wheelhorse transmission is easy enough to do with basic hand tools and the knowledge base of Redsquare's members.
Stormin 9,981 #17060 Posted September 19, 2022 Things haven't really gone to plan today. First of no photo's of the mod to the front mounting bar on the 42" deck. I did extend the locating fork but when I tried to fit it into the tachomatic, that was when I realised I'd made a boo boo. It wasn't that I should have extended, but the arms that attach to the deck. So I went to plan B. Remove the spacers I'd fitted to level the front end after I'd fitted the bigger diameter tyres. While doing that I noticed the left hand front wheel was well out of track. Why I don't know. I'll work that out at a later date. After I'd reset the tracking I decided to try some mowing. Things went reasonably well until the engine lost rev's. The rod from carb to governor arm had come adrift. Little circlip that holds it into the governor arm had disappeared. Took one off the C-125. While trying to fit that it went off to look for the missing one. Got a couple of small cable ties and that sorted that for now. Continued mowing the green and was just about to finish when the drive belt for the blades came off. That was when I said enough is enough. Removed the deck, cleaned it and the tractor and put them away. 3

TonyToro 1,049 #17070 Posted September 20, 2022 @TonyToro Jr.and I worked on his pulling tractor (Last Minute) the past few days. We needed to add more weight to the tractor so he would be at 1050lbs with him driving. We got some heavy steel from the bargain bin at Logan Steel. I welded it all up and painted it flat black. We now have approx 110lbs hanging right under the gearbox. He also found some diamond plate there and wanted to make headlight cover. A couple upgrades done and hopefully they show a difference this Friday. 2 4

Heatingman 971 #17073 Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) Picked up a Wheelhorse dump cart, cleaned out the head on the motor, checked tappet clearance and inspected cylinder for scoring, and reassembled. Neglected to take a picture of the internals after cleaning. And gave the motor a coat of engine enamel. Edited September 20, 2022 by Heatingman 4
