I painted a few parts for a project that I swear I'll get to one of these days  and I broke down a bit of the $100 310-8 parts tractor that I picked up last week. Sorry, no pics . I bought that primarily for the steering and spindles for the aforementioned project but it's also got an M10 that shows promise. PO said it just needs a fuel pump which in itself is no doubt true since the one with it had been disassembled and destroyed. I ordered a low psi electric pump scheduled for delivery tomorrow so I'll see if that will blow smoke or not in a few days...

Was popping wheelies with Morgan today.  I hooked up to the travel trailer today to pull it out into the middle of the lawn for better access for cleaning and maintenance.  The trailer wheels had sunk into the ground about 1 1/2 inches.  Made it reluctant to move forward.  No problem,  low range reverse moved the wheels out of their depressions, then 2nd hi range made enough momentum to pull the trailer through the ruts.

 

Found the leak in the grey water plumbing.  Was a crack that ran about 12" starting at the dump valves flange, extended along a section of pipe, then about 2/3 of the way around a 90 degree fitting.  Probably a result of incomplete draining of the system.  I also found a broken pipe hanger that might have also contributed to the failure.  The drain fittings hang kind of low, so it is possible I tagged it on a bump somewhere.

 

Pipe, no problem. 90 degree fitting, on problem.  Dump valve flange, problem.  I ended up cutting the pipe about 1 1/2" from the flange, springing the crack open, injecting glue into the crack, and putting a hose clamp around the hub of the flange fitting.  Patched in new pipe with flexible hose clamp type couplings.  Had to rebuild one pipe hanger.

 

So far, no leaks.

1/2 way to a roller. Would have had the back tires mounted on the rims, and in fact did have one mounted, and bead set, but the bead still leaked. So, I ordered some tubes which I should have tomorrow.

 

So far reassembly is going well.

That and ease of installation is why all my newly mounted tires are getting tubes. 

The added expense for the tube is well worth the aggravation reduction.

Also, if you plan to liquid fill the tires I think it is best to use tubes rather than having the liquid directly against the rims.

Yes, weight (down force) increases the grip directly.      Will you notice the difference?   Probably not, 240 lbs  would be noticable.

Grip=Fz×μ

where

Grip is the maximum force the tire can transmit to the vehicle,

Fz is vertical downforce on the tire, and

μ is the coefficient of friction of the tire with the surface.

So my 856 had a hole in its dash. Don't ask me how it got there, it was there when I got it. Didn't like looking at it every time I got behind the wheel so...... I got me a WWII ammunition gauge to put in its place !! Not really.... it's just a refrigerator magnet but way cooler to look at then a hole !!
