just have to remove the inner sheild and keep it out for a grazeable application which the front wheels on mine are.

Got some primer on the frame, rims, and related parts. Before I started, my elderly neighbor asked what I was up to. Showed her around the project and got to talking about a lawn sweeper I want to find. 
 

Turns out she has one, and an old riding mower that belonged to her father that she wants to get rid of. 
 

Both mine for the taking when I have space. 
 

Wish I had more stuff to hang parts from to paint. 
 

Gonna be a multi day process for each step. (Prime and paint)

 

Still got a bunch of parts ready for primer.

The device the rims are on was purpose built for spraying cabinet doors from when I remodeled the kitchen. Back when lumber was still cheap

Also while I was sitting around, decided to breath life into the headlight fixture that @Burnerman graciously sent me.

 

I’ll get me some 1156 led bulbs and should have really nice headlights for plowing.

Sometimes it takes some serious persistence or even alternative tools. Sawzall. 6' crowbar. Strong gorilla. Etc....

I had to use the 12 ton press on one of mine. Had to rig a make shift pressing foot to angle into the rim to direct more force to the bead itself.

 

Im considering making an adapter foot attachment for the press.

 

really depends on how much of this type of thing I’ll be doing.

We've used ours quite a bit. 

 

Really only had one tire that fought me to near submission.

I added HVAC foil tape the inside of mine as well that gave it a little extra reflection.just a idea !

The HF tier changer will do a good job breakin the bead unless it is rusted badly. If that is the case you can open up a gap between the rim and tire and put in some liquid wrench and give it a few days to work. If that won't do the trick then I use the front end loader to break the bead, seems a bit extreme but it is effective.

If I had one, Id use the front end loader too.

I got the blade on my 175A. Complete with adjustable link. With it all the way down, I can just take some of the weight off of the front tires. We'll see how that works out. Now I have to decide if I want to take it off, blast it, and paint it. Again, we'll see.

Right now it has Deestone ags on the back. I don't like them at all, but I can trade tires with another tractor and put the Carlisle ags on, or turf tires. When pushing snow, if you have weights and chains, does it really matter what tire you have on.

 

 I have one heavy plastic wheel weight, and one that's just hollow. Should I fill the hollow one with concrete? Or what?  Thanks  Greg

Weight is your friend and you want it somewhat balanced other wise one wheel will spin easily

You dont like the Deestone ags in general, or for this application?

Deestones are just so much smaller than Carlisles or other tires.  Here is Carlisle and Deestone, Both are 23 X 10.50 - 12

Got some more parts primed.

 

Over packed the one hanger station, ended up with a run on the mule drive housing, and one of the seat springs cause I was trying to get in with the gun to hard spots, then overspray built up too fast outside the target area.

 

So in a few days, I’ll have some sanding to do, then maybe touch up prime those parts. Prolly use the rattle can for that. 
 

So, lesson learned, slow down dummy (me) or make more hanger space, or both.

 

Gonna rain on Sunday which is a bummer. Was hoping to get some color down on the rims, maybe the frame.

The electric PTO on my zero turn mower has stopped working (bad switch I think), so I had to once again enlist the help of one of my Wheel Horses. I'd been using the 520-H with a 42SD deck for the small spaces that my zero turn wouldn't fit, but that was a once per week for 10 minutes job. This time I had to break out the 60SD and work the ole girl for several hours. 

 

As expected, she didn't complain and did a great (albeit much slower) job. It was well after dark when we finished. Now she needs another bath!
