What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Got the new Carlisle Ags mounted up and put on the GT-1848:

 

 

Oh yeah, and while I was at it I got some 7/16" 20 1-1/2" bolts, and nuts.  Put 2 on each side, threaded through from the inside of the hub to act as studs.  Made putting the wheels on much easier!  Tapered the nuts on the bench grinder.

Morgan got another workout today.  We mowed the lake house lawn.  The contours of that yard make me nervous when I am mowing next to the lake.  Being titled towards the water just feels WRONG.

 

The deck drive belt behaved today.  It did not flip inside out on the PTO pulley.  Looks like increasing the belt tension helped.  Still noticed a lot of belt vibration between the mule drive and the deck pulley.

Been having that same problem myself. Tightening the mule really tight doesn't seem to help in my case.

Check all the Vee pulleys for a stone or twig wedged deep in the vee.    PTO, Mule, and Deck pulleys.

I have a set of Carlisle Trupower 23s. 

They're at just 23. That's about ½" taller than the stock turfs I removed.

I got a cheap tire machine from HF and got the old ones off, but putting the new ones on was generating a lot of four-letter words, so I took them to Belle Tire and they mounted them for $10 each. Can't complain about that.

I'm not sure - I don't think this tractor had stock on it to start with. They were 23x10.50 turfs, and it sits just about the same. I'd say within 1/2", like @ebinmaine said. The turfs are on my 312-A now, and I can no longer use the 42" deck on it. But that deck will now go on the 416-8 with 9.50's. I hope. Haven't tried yet.

I would be supprized if they made any tires taller as smaller seams to be the way they go. My 520 -H had 7" rims and 23 x 950 x 12 tirfs .I went with 24 x 950 x 12 Tirf Masters and 18 x 650 x 8  Tirf Masters on the front. They are all shorter then the listed height.

Kinda like this one @davem1111? If you don't bolt that sucker down real good and have a brush and a bowl of dawn for the bead you might oughta just tell the kids to go in the house until you're done...that being said, mine does well enough to tolerate it and keep it around.

I clamp mine in the bench vice. Never used the base that comes with it. Works way better that way.

I do both. 

Our HF changer is bolted into the floor joists of the outdoor workshop. 

Works very well for the most part. 

The Carlisle Trupower AGs I bought are commercial grade. 

I didn't even consider trying to install them. 

I could have invented some neat new vernacular though....

For eight inch and six inch rims I use a piece of 3/4" all-thread rod drilled through the work bench and a couple tire irons, works great.

On the tire changers, stayed tuned. I have another idea for combining both so you can use the little guy on top of the big guy that’s bolts to the floor. Simple idea that raises the little guy off the ground or too high on a work bench.

@8ntruck  on that belt vibration , do a lubrication detailing on every mounting point , ELIMINATE ANY RUST , LUBRICATE  MULE DRIVE  THREAD ADJUSTER  for easier more direct function. you might also have a belt thats starting to crack or split from all that . had one that started to " buzz "  the belt splits were on the horizontal side to top area , noted  excessive flexing , belt swap , made it all good .  hiding in plane site , pete

No, I should have bought that one but I was on a road trip at the time and the car was too full already.  The one I got looks like this:

 

 

It's supposed to go up to 12" rims but I think only for light-duty stuff.  The beads on these Carlisles did not want to cooperate. If I had more good tire spoons and about 4 more arms, it may have worked.    I may box this one back up and exchange it. 

 

I bolted mine to my workbench, which was a bit of a pain because I had to stand on a stool to get leverage at times. I have a concrete slab floor so I think I may get the bigger machine and put anchors in the floor.

I’m using drop in anchors for the big guy. Sorry for my video skills or lack there of, I think you can get the idea tho.
