What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Thanks. With the cheap bearings there's no guarantee indeed.

However on some websites, like SKF for example, you can select bearings on their intended use. This includes but is not limited to heat index, load (static/dynamic), etc.

Ever tried that? I've had good luck going that route sofar.. 

That being said I do not want to dismiss the importance of good lubrication, an issue that is often overlooked. Just as regular checking, cleaning, tightening etc. And then people wonder why stuff breaks

  Painted up some front rims for a friend @Docwheelhorse (yes, for a Wheel Horse GT-1800). Didn’t use the playing card trick, stuck to my old tried and true tape/masking method. 

  Smoke gray was the color of choice.

Added a 2" front hitch receiver to the C-100.  Should add lots of versatility and function for the tow/logging rig this will be.

on ebay.  Just search wheel horse front hitch and it should come up.  It hooks up like the mule drive.  Pretty quick and easy.

@sjoemie himself , noting your reference to the cheap bearings , since going rogue on lubrication , the most imp detail for me is wide rubber side shields for easy removal , clean out and repack with lucas extra hd grease, did you know that the bearings in the mower deck and mule drive , are essentially for ceiling fans ? put in a hi temp hi load grease , and they are quiet and smooth. keep it greasy , pete

  I don’t but it came with an RD deck so it was a

mower.

  Pressure wash helped some

Seriously??  no I did not know that.

I can imagine how the engineers must have thought "well the blades on this mower kinda look like ceiling fans, so lets go with those bearings then".. probably after smoking or drinking certain substances 

 

Anyhow.. I'm not positive if they sell Lucas overhere but i'm sure I can find an alternative for it. Thanks for sharing

Opinions please! 
  So after power-washing and lots of elbow grease with Dawn dish soap these rims off my 867 have cleaned up nice and the original paint is not horrible.

  I’m tempted to not rattle can the rims and just re-install and “run em”. The insides of the rears are not as nice but so what, can’t really see the insides much. Keep thinking “They are only original once”. All four are the original Wheel Horse branded tires as well. 
  Your thoughts please??

I like original myself and those look solid enough they won't contribute to rusting and damage, or not a high rate anyways.  I'd leave it as is

  What we doing with the rear hubs? Red? Black? Almond? They appear to be gray right now.

You shoulda bought a bunch of hub caps at the show to end all of these difficult decisions!

Those rims look real good as is!

Preference here would be red on the hubs. Gives it a nice contrast and looks good IMO

I'll second that. Mike those rims look great as they are. Maybe clear coat them? I would just run them...

Been surfing the interweb the last couple of days to find the proper PTO bell for Clyde.  Lucked out and stumbled on to a couple.  One used and the other new.  I've ordered the used one.  

 

If I had a lathe like @Pullstart has in his magic barn, I could repair the bell that I have.
