Desko 608 #16033 Posted June 12, 2022 Haven't been active much due to trying to get ready for a wedding is hectic lol but I did get the D160 out and took the mower off and threw the blade back on to do some barn work so it got to play with the big boys while I was pushing dirt/rock with it so I could put down milling material for the reception along with some concrete repairs. (Original barn burnt in the 80s so there was some popped out spots) 14
Andy N. 2,154 #16034 Posted June 12, 2022 Repaired the wiring connections to the PTO safety switches on the 520-H. And removed the ty wrap that someone had previously installed. Only had to put new connections on 2 of the wires. 11

I know a number of members think the safety switches are more trouble than they are worth. I believe in them and I'm pleased to see you keeping them in good operating condition. Congrats 3

I'm curious why it was put there in the first place.
ebinmaine 67,589 #16038 Posted June 13, 2022 Fair amount done again today. Since I installed the Mackissic chipper shredder the left side of the bracket has seriously impeded the axle tilt to that direction. Today I ground the nub of the casting of the axle flat. Much better. We also finished moving the rest of the 10 yds of loam we'd had delivered a few weeks ago. I moved 4 loads of around 15 - 17 cu feet each so well over 2 cu yds. All hand shovel loaded. 90% hand shovel unloaded too. Damn good workout. Part of it is now a path from the pallet bridge to the garden gate. The rest is now in a spare loam pile. While I started getting my head wrapped around what needs to be done to move the truck and it's portable garage, Trina and her mom moved and stacked more firewood.

Cee245 818 #16040 Posted June 13, 2022 Put all new tires on and cleaned up my 416H a little bit. Used the card method to paint rims. Worked well overall although putting the cards on the rear rims was tougher as the slightest wind blew them over. On the front, they were very secure and stood more upright. Which is why I taped the front tires and painted the rears by the doors of the shed to avoid fumes. This machine is prob not going to be used much mowing anymore which is why I went with black rims. 10
davem1111 2,030 #16041 Posted June 13, 2022 Did some mowing with the GT-1848 with the recently repaired and mostly repainted 48" deck, but then I blew the bearings on the drive belt idler pulley, so I finished mowing with the 312-A and 42" deck. I had been away so the grass was about a foot tall in many places - gotta go over it all again in a few days. Here are the 2 tractors mentioned, resting in the garage last night: I won't have the new idler pulley till Tuesday but got a new belt already at Rural King. Took things apart and found that the whole compartment under the shifter plate had been filled up with bedding by mice. What's in the shovel was about 2/3 of what came out, the rest was sucked up by the shop vac: Gave the GT a power wash next, mainly to get the crud out of the cooling fins on the hydro pump: 7
Monstrosity 1,128 #16042 Posted June 13, 2022 Assembly has begun trying to get it back together quickly hood and fender pan still need paint. The plate welded to fix has become a problem with the parking brake lever... now need to add a bend to those brackets. Need to get the wheel weights off still and want to test the trans before tearing apart it seemed to start to fail but I did not have the correct belt on it... Inspector is in bed and couldn't give his approval yet. 9

Make sure you shift into gear ONLY with the engine off. On a Wheelhorse the belt GUARD is also the belt GUIDE. Any crunching grinding gnashing while shifting will do irreparable damage. josephvigg 88 #16046 Posted June 13, 2022 The past few weekends we - replanted the raised flower beds, thatched and reseeded the lawn, swept the property, got a good tan, oh and of course gave the old girl a nice bath. 9

My raider likes to grind when I don't wait for the belt to come to a stop. It has the original belt guard and yet I have to countdown 3-5 seconds after pressing in the cltuch before I can kick it into gear without grinding. My c-141 doesn't mind it running without a belt guard. (disclaimer: it has a thinner belt) C141 first drive.mp4 Edited June 14, 2022 by Maxwell-8
Sewman 20 #16048 Posted June 14, 2022 (edited) I found a broken 6-wheel stock cart where there's 2)wheels on each end that swivel & the center ones are stationary.I'm scrapping it & took the larger center wheels off & the have some nice sealed ball bearings in them & finally last Sat. I decided to mount them on my deck. They have a 1/2" bore so I got a couple bushings 3/8" to 1/2" 2)3 1/2" 3/8" bolts & put them on. rjg854 11,378 #16050 Posted June 14, 2022 Painted the wheels on the 1045, waiting on a set of tie rods, to complete the punch list. The rest of the parts I need I'll pick up at the big show. 3
