What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Never weighed it.. Wrestled it on many years ago and have never taken it off since.  Mounting is a huge PITA.  I normally have wheel weights and  50-75 on the rear.  Borroed them all last year to fit out a plow tractor for my Brother...

Maybe you could get your brother to stand on the back of the tractor while you're sweeping?

Think sweepsters are heavy!

I can confirm. When I picked up my Horse with sweeper I got only halfway up the ramps when I tried to back it up the first time. Thought the clutch or belt was slipping. Turns out the rear tires were floating

Today, well actually the last few months, I have been conducting a weldathon on this knackered deck. It's coming along nicely though

I've got one that needs a similar amount of work.  It is encouraging to see that they can be brought back.  Hopefully, I'll get to it this summer.

Took the tire chains off the Raider 12, in honor of St. Patty's day.

@Fergus Nice job. I have a 42 side discharge with some rot that needs to be taken care of. Just don’t have the time lol.

Did you just plug the rust holes with little beads it looks like?

No, those were drilled holes for the previous owner's bodged on brackets 😁

Nearly there! They're not available new so it's welding or no mower. I think it's been around 6 hours of work in lunch breaks at work so far.

That's great that you're allowed to do things like that at work.

@Fergus  agree with others on  your attempted save , not sure how difficult it is to remove or drop that deck , but that , would be the most important thing you could do to it regularly , dry it out in the sun if possible , clean out the bottom side , lubricate it with a  soak down . scrape it down, leave it upside down when not in use , to dry out and soak in the oil to the metal. lightly sharpen blades , look for another deck . been doing this for years . this is my deck,  just an idea that works , pete

You wouldn't think a maternity hospital would be so understanding of welding and grinding in lunch hour 😆

Continues on the 520 trans filter fitting leak, o-ring was flat, Plus I installed a good PTO / brake. The PO let the hoop quick clip out and the hoop rubbed the bearing hub clean down to the snap ring groove. How could you not hear that?

When I worked at a hospital, that would last about 5 minutes. The ER was right above the shop and the ICU the floor above that. The staircases acted like chimneys. Any smell created in the shop traveled up those staircases quick.

I have to rebuild my 48 inch SD deck for my 1994 520H.

I have new spindles with the sleeves as shown in the pic (yellow rag).

My concern is “Do you have to, or can you line up the grease holes in the sleeves with the grease holes in the spindle shafts”

And since the holes with positively not be, or stay lined up, will the grease work it’s way to the bearings ?… this has been in the back of my mind since I first looked closely at the design…
