I guess he could put a cellphone bracket on the bottom of his steering wheel. Wheel Horse steering don't turn very far so that would work. Last fall I installed a 12v socket and added a 12v to dual USB adaptor. Since it'll be used at a remote camp with no electricity, the owners are looking forward to charging devices while using the tractor next summer. Now we need some sort of bracket/basket to hold the gadgets!

It was an early one and the reverse pedal is fairly small and can sometimes be hard to activate. I do not use her in the winter, but, I would be hesitant to use it with snow / ice on the pedals and bulky cold weather foot wear.... I have Matt's foot control on 5 of my machines. some have the steel reverse pedal and some have the cast reverse pedal. The 520HC that I use for snow removal has the older style steel revers pedal s shown. I use large insulated steel toed rubber boots and have no issues whatsoever. 1

It worked very well for the fluffy snow we got on Friday. If we get the hard icy sleet that we got the previous storm, I would probably take it off to get more bite.

Did you have to modify the plow angle control to avoid interference with the pedal???

Reddart 207 #14785 Posted February 27, 2022 (edited) 1 hour ago, ebinmaine said: How time consuming is it to install/remove? Well, I made it by cutting a 2”pvc pipe with a circular saw clamped the pipe to a board to guide it. Went one pass, saw the internal (compressive?) stress closed the gap, so I made a second pass to have a small gap open. I then opened the gap by shoving a pair of pliers in it, then pounded it on the blade edge with a hammer against a wood block (I have a plastic wearbar on it already that I made out of a sheet of plastic, abs?). It had enough clamping force to hold it on, but I might try to screw or bolt it to keep it from sliding (it did slide a little). From cutting the pipe to pounding it on took 30 something minutes? not sure about removing it if I need to…what I might end up doing if there is some harder snow/ice predicted is to just cut a new plastic wearbar from the remaining sheet stock I still have. The one on the plow now with the pipe has been on for almost 2 years and is near needing replacement/rotation anyway so it would be just a matter of unbolting and switching the plastic wearbars. That pipe is clamped on pretty tight, so I wouldn’t look forward to removing it from the wear bar if I had to. Edited February 27, 2022 by Reddart

Maybe fab a magnetic mount to the hood with an arm to hold the phone above the wheel. That way he won't have to turn his head so far... 1

19richie66 17,508 #14792 Posted March 1, 2022 Welcomed a new steed to the group. Traded some stuff for a 418-8 and 48” deck. Have some electrical work to do on it but overall in really good shape. Can’t wait to get it going for use this summer. Give my 417/12-A a break. 8

Lee1977 6,664 #14797 Posted March 1, 2022 Added some bushing to the hood on my 312-8 got tired of all the rattling. Picked up a package of door bushings at Napa. Drilled out the hood hinge to 1/2" installed them. Was a real pain getting it back together with the bushing in place.. bushings kept coming out when when trying to get the rod back in. It's nice and quite now, also added three layers of electrical tape to the back of the hood 6
