You have to take the chaff screen off first.

The section behind the flywheel is my problem...it is part of the big front shroud

@johnnymag3… wasn’t trying to be a smart Aleck… I was just taking a wild swing hoping for a home run.

I know I have been known to try to remove stuff and not have all the bolts loose…

Don't now what to say.  my 418A has the separate piece with  four holes only three are used the intake manifold blocks one.  Just got mine back together after an overhaul.  The one C175 I can see right now has the two piece

Mine has 3. Could there possibly be a bolt head broken off? :confusion-shrug:1276943128_mv16shroud(2).jpg.d5875eca2dd84331044e24a94c872949.jpg

As per manual, 1987 418-A

Might mean something, then again, it might not. :confusion-confused:

c-series don

I’m sorry, I just read the last part of this thread and I think it might be beneficial to start a new conversation about this. This seems like others might run into the same situation. I just don’t want to see it lost in the 551 pages of this post. I believe I have to replace the head gasket on my 418-C this winter so any information on taking the tins off will help.
