SylvanLakeWH 25,598 #13701 Posted November 26, 2021 3 flat suburban concrete drives… I have a “zamboni” pattern for each that keeps me going forward a lot of the time… each is about 125’ - 150’ deep and 12’ - 20’ wide… I also clear off the city plow piles from the base of several other drives to help them out… those are full speed single pass jobs…! 4 1

pfrederi 17,741 #13703 Posted November 26, 2021 I measured a few days ago I have to clear driveway for 1,208 feet. Figure about 12ft wide (to allow for room for next snow fall) and a section in front of the shop about 100 feet that I have to clear about 35 ft wide (to turn truck into shop). That part is a lot of back and forth. So it has been all hydro for me for several years now . No way i am going back. A bit faster forward and much faster reverse. More efficient for the snow blower as I can vary speeds better to keep it full but not choking.... 8

The 8 speed does have the upper RPM dialed back to 3300 or so though.

Same here...plus add a foot control so the right hand steers and the left hand operates the hydraulic lift.

I probably never told anyone... but when I first built HellHorse... I did not have a seat for it... so I just sat on the metal where the seat should be. Well... at the time... I was inexperienced in using HellHorse... and although I only have a 196cc engine on it... the clutch slipped off of my shoe... and HellHorse just about pulled me out of my shoes... landing flat on my behind. While I was gathering my... thoughts and body parts... my horse is going down the driveway by itself, of course. We all know that horses have to be tied up so they stay put! The good thing is, I didn't have a lot of fuel in it at the time... and it died before I had to chase it... too far... Edit: after that experience, I went to the shop, got on my laptop, and bought a seat.... Don Edited November 26, 2021 by Snoopy11

I was thinking of giving that a try after you posted the idea. Maybe the heavy rubber belt thing would work better? I forgot to tension the rubber before mounting so it is a bit crooked. Will have to do that again. 4 1

Also does other plowing on gravel stuff if i don't feel likes swapping tractors... Hardly any wear. Just mounted new piece on a 48" blade (old one was 42"). 1 1
Ed Kennell 38,209 #13720 Posted November 27, 2021 Removed the deck from the 312H. Yes, I cleaned and oiled it Pete. Then installed the tiller and tilled the horse manure into the gardens. Then took the tiller off and installed the 48" blade. The 312H will be used for warm weather snow removal. The 520H with heated cab and 54" blade is ready full time for the cold weather duty. Hauled in some wood. 5

We both have gravel drives. He slit a piece of 3" PVC length wise. Took out about an inch wide. It snaps right onto the wear bar. He did this on his Speedex and he says it works great and doesn't dig into the gravel. If it doesn't work no big loss. 6 1

If you now cut a 1 1/2" - 2" piece off the end of that so you have a C clip, they work great for locking the lids closed on the big trash/recycle bins. Keeps the varmints out! And I have as many 3" PVC pipe pieces anyone wants. 4
Snoopy11 5,714 #13723 Posted November 27, 2021 I was playing around with timing today... I came up with this. It is hard to tell in the video, as it is so loud... but I am hitting 7,240 RPM. Don 2
