The seat bracket repair works well.  

I got the clamps on the fuel system.....

But it ain't happy yet. 

 

@JCM you may remember when we picked this beast up the fuel pump was bypassed. 

I've had it connected and run it for just a few minutes, maybe 15 or 20 total since its arrival.  

The existing carb I had swapped out for a carb I rebuilt a few years ago. Turned out that had a broken linkage at the top. Some of you may recall the horrifically loose one that was on Cinnamon Horse when it came here. I had tried soldering the pieces together. Worked ok by vision but after a few minutes of Kohler vibration it came undone.  

 

So I rebuilt the carb from the C160 Automatic. That part's better..... but now the fuel pump doesn't keep up with the engine above 1/2 throttle or so.  

Fuel stream is pretty solid from tank to pump. From pump to carb it runs fine for a few minutes then I can see a fair amount of air bubbles on the way into the carb.   

 

I have a spare pump I'll try tomorrow.

The BBT took her trusty steed Pigpen 867 and the trailer out the forest and got a couple loads of firewood. 

After that she stacked it, and a few other loads.  

 

 

 

 

 

She's been working on getting paint plopped on the parts I need for my front hub conversion as well.

@76c12091520h bob ,  being a lubrication nut , I regularly marvel at the rusted state of the exposed wheel well / chassis areas in virtually new trucks . none of my stuff is lie that , my cure for that is LUBRIPLATE , CHAIN AND CABLE SPRAY  AND LUBRIPLATE OPEN GEAR HEAVY DUTY EXTREME PRESSURE  AEROSOL LUBES. nothing stays with metal like this stuff , moving up garage door co , https://www.movingupgaragedoors.com/lubriplate-l0152-063-gear-shield-extra-heavy-lubricant  has the best prices . , no rust and stands up , pete

Made the exact same repair last week Eb. Every time I went to sit on the Charger was a gamble- gave a whole new meaning to "dismount", let me yell ya!

I have a habit of getting on my tractors with one hand on the seat, and one on the steering wheel...

 

Imagine doing pushups on a wet, soapy floor while wearing rubber gloves: not gonna work so well! The distance from a raised seat back to the steering wheel tends to exceed how wide I can hold my hands!

 

First time I ever fell off a tractor by trying to sit down on one! Not hard to figure out what happened 10 feet away from the thing when you stop rollling over.

Certainly easier on both me and the tractor. No clutching. No excessive belt wear.  

 

I'm hoping this steed will run well and work out for plowing snow.
