AMC RULES 37,130 #13453 Posted November 7, 2021 Scored the mother load of Sears weights today. Just a tick over 32lbs each, think I did OK for $80. Also, got the solid 50lb Jacobsen set I got back from the Squonk mounted up on the Honda-Horse today as well. 4

rjg854 11,361 #13455 Posted November 7, 2021 Nice part of that style of weight is that you can stack them, if you choose to.

Almost beats my set of 4 for free on a SS12 on the side of the road a few years back! 5

I already know you would like it. and seeing @Pullstart compressor gave me the final push! 2 1

ebinmaine 67,492 #13465 Posted November 9, 2021 @JCM Jim came by today. We spent some time messing about with one of the recently aquired 417As. Jim did a bunch of muck removal and general cleaning. I did some diagnostics on the electric system. After a few hours we had fire in the hole!! Just for kicks I also tossed/hucked/chucked a batt-tree in the 1974 C160 Tecumseh engine tractor. It fired right up!!! 5
rjg854 11,361 #13466 Posted November 9, 2021 I took the deck off the c-160 today tore that apart by removing the recycler insert and scraped it all down, oiled it up real good. Stored it away for the winter then changed the oil and transmission oil and filter. Tomorrow I'll grease everything and put the plow and chains on. Weather changes next week with a highs only in the 40s so it's only a matter of time.

Andy N. 2,154 #13470 Posted November 9, 2021 Yesterday I got the key switch installed on the '86 417-A and went for a test drive/mow. This was a solid machine when I got it a month ago, just needed some TLC. I gave it a really good cleaning, idler pulley, sleeve hitch installed (thanks again @wheelhorseman), painted wheels and new tires, new key switch, Kirk Engines transdenser II electronic ignition (https://kirkengines.com if anyone is interested), new foot runners, new drive belt, LED headlights and tail lights, painted engine baffles, painted seat pan, foot rests and side covers, replaced front axle spindles and axle pin and plate. When I bought it, it had 6" wheels on the front. I did not have a spare set of 8" wheels to put on it, but I just found a set on eBay that is being shipped that will go on it once they are rebuilt. First video is tractor running. Second video is tractor and mower deck running. The deck was so quiet, I decided I need to replace the spindle bearings on my other decks. The mower deck got new pulleys, wheels, belt, rebuilt spindles, and painted Pour 15 on the underside. Blade were in good enough shape since they were installed upside down, that all I had to do was sharpen them. Still need to do some work on the tiller and plow blade and then it will go to my sister in KY. And yes, this was more than just today.
