TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #2 Posted February 22, 2009 As long as it's not real old, you can use an OEM Magnetron coil from a newer engine. I think 398811 is the B&S part number for the mag kit (around $40 new) or you should be able to find them used on eBay, etc. HERE is an ebay listing for an aftermarket (Oregon) replacement coil. The models that have incorrectly phased magnets seem to be the cast iron 10/12/14/16hp single-cylinder engines like used on Simplicity, Allis Chalmers, Sears, etc., but there could be others.
