Definitely has the right size and shape for a Road Boss. There's another one next to that trailer camper. Very decrepit old plow truck. I don't recall seeing any markings on the one in the picture at all but the old plow truck simply said White Diesel on the hood.

I remember seeing White trucks everywhere when I was a kid. White motors in Cleveland employed people I know today. I think they were decent trucks and at one time comprised 4 brands which were White, Autocar,White Western Star and White Freightliner.
ebinmaine 67,432 #678 Posted October 12, 2020 I rescued a hood side badge from a broken rusted White Construktor. I'll polish it up sometime and hang it on a wall.

Those were bad ass trucks. I drove one for a time hauling scrap metal. The company also had IH Paystars, Autocars and Macks with steel front ends. Back then trucks had style unlike today. Only KW and Pete are hanging on with traditional looks.
ebinmaine 67,432 #680 Posted October 12, 2020 My 2 favorites are the Mack R or DM and any old classic conventional Pete with a flat hood. Example. 379. LOVE the "needle noses"...
Pullstart 62,837 #681 Posted October 20, 2020 Not a truck, surely vintage! 1938 Chevy! 3
JCM 9,130 #682 Posted December 5, 2020 Came across a few more of the 1986 K-20. 1st pic in 1999 , 2nd in 1988, 3rd current. 3 1
PeacemakerJack 10,738 #683 Posted December 6, 2020 Been busy doing some traveling out west lately and have seen some great examples of vintage trucks here...unfortunately I don’t always have time to get to my phone😢 lots of trucks used as advertising for local business like this old blue oval. This Toyota looked to have been restored and it was beautiful. I got a huge kick out of the X-tra Cab feature which gave a person about 6-8 more inches of cab space😉 5

Horse Newbie 7,069 #685 Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) @PeacemakerJack That white Toyota Xtra cab looks to be an 84 model. A friend of mine has an 84 just like it except his is red with tan interior. He bought it new...had to have AC put on, no radio, no rear bumper. Horse Newbie 7,069 #686 Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) Not going to be an off frame- resto..probably new 3 or 4 over springs, Rancho shocks, paint frame rails, paint axle housings' fender wells, and undercoat cab... Bed comes off because that's where most body work will be required. New paint, interior...Mine came with factory 3 inch diameter tubular roll bar and rear bumper. I also have a full front bush rack with 6000 lb Ramsey winch... Don't see many of the 1st Gen Toys about much...I've seen them sell for $30K on fleabay. Won't be anytime too soon though...Right now I just started sanding the wheels on my 520H. Them I'll move on to restoring the 48 inch deck. After that I have a leaf sucker (Easy Vac) that I am being reminded I need right now. After those projects get done, I will have room to pull the Toyota in the shop.
Horse Newbie 7,069 #689 Posted December 6, 2020 This is why I need to get the Easy Vac leaf sucker project done before I look to restore the Toyota...have to do this 3 or 4 times each fall. Blow into about 3 piles...then put in 10cf cart behind tractor and haul to street...about 20 to 30 trips at least. If the city didn't pick the leaves up at curb my yard would be treeless... 2

And as you can see the oak leaves make it practically impossible to grow grass...and I love seat time...need more grass !

Neither Trina nor I enjoys mowing as much as alot of other activities so we don't try to grow more grass. Yard isn't big enough to justify a Horse mower anyway. That's an AWESOME pile o leaves there.

JCM 9,130 #694 Posted December 8, 2020 I went up to camp back in the early 80's in one of those. I believe that was a 350 converted into a diesel of sorts, is that correct Eric ?
tom2p 2,394 #695 Posted December 8, 2020 that diesel was actually a fairly good runner it was previously owned and maintained and by a county bus garage mechanic - that probably did not hurt it also had a block heater - had to use it when the temps dropped

Before that was the infamous Oldsmobile 5.7 diesel. Car ONLY (AFAIK). Olds diesel looked great on paper but didn't do well in real world usage.
tom2p 2,394 #697 Posted December 8, 2020 (edited) the 'red truck' was probably the fav of my dad's trucks we had a 77 F250 before the GMC - but this 90's F250 ran great and was especially quiet and comfortable only issue with the red truck - and it was a big issue : everything rusted on that truck ... items that should not rust ... both gas tanks ... pumpkin covers ... oil pan ... almost all lines - including fuel line, brake lines, power steering lines ... and this began fairly quickly - after 10 or so years Edited December 8, 2020 by tom2p

JCM 9,130 #699 Posted December 8, 2020 I bought a 1978 F-150 4x4 shortbed 4 speed manual 300 straight six and only kept it for 3 or 4 years because the drivers side floor pan around the body mount was starting to rot bad so in 86 I ordered the 86 K-20. But I did like that shortbed Ford a lot. Was not a fan of the white spoke rims but were on it when I bought it. No cap or plow $4500.00 with around 40000 miles on it.

He was a diesel mechanic. Literally THE guy the fire department called on and all the local truckers went to. That car..... Every few ((choose favorite time division)) bring in the shop. Change head gaskets, maybe look at the oil..
