PeacemakerJack 10,738 #627 Posted August 3, 2020 When we were in PR in 2017 with a group of teens for a week long missions trip, we came up with a saying/slogan because of how poor the roads are down there. ”Jeep: for Puerto Rico. Where on-roading is off-roading and off-roading is an experience!” 3

ACman 7,618 #632 Posted August 6, 2020 (edited) I love my Chevy C10’s but there’s something about the 68-71 Dodge D/W Series . I owned a 70 myself and regret selling it ever since. Going through fleabay last night and came across this 71 D100 . Sure wish I could get this one in my driveway.....440ci with 727trans and notice the factory gated shifter mounted under the dash . This is one truck. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Dodge-Other-Pickups-440-Auto-swb-sweptline-/353142156237 Edited August 6, 2020 by ACman 6
Redneckdavis 308 #633 Posted August 6, 2020 That is a very nice truck.. and I believe they are so ugly that they're cool:) I'd drive it but honestly, based off the number of 70's Dodge's I've seen vs Ford's and Chevy's. They had to have been a POS. I never see them, and when I do, they are never on the road. 1

I can let you know how bad they are in a little bit. I just bought this and am bringing it home in a couple days. 2

Sweet, when I was growing up my dad had a 1950 Stud that he bought in 1962 when he came back home (from serving in the Army as a Ranger stationed in Germany) to haul pulp wood on but by the time I was old enough to remember it was just a hay/wood hauler thanks for posting. 1 1
Achto 27,567 #641 Posted August 24, 2020 (edited) I often forget to take pictures of things that I see all the time. Over the weekend my friend Scott had his truck out for a cruise & I remembered to get a picture to share with you. It is a '49 Ford, sporting a flat head V8 with Offenhauser heads & some other mild engine work. Other than the radial tires, all modifications to this truck are pre 1960 mods. The body is just the way he found it. When it was a work truck the hood must have been used to do math work, some of these penciled on figures are still visible. White one (White Knight)is a 99 (comming up on 200,000mi this month); black one an '01 (Always bet on Black). Not 'vintage", maybe...but old enough, these days... Not a very old pic; taken last yr. Month b4 this, there was also a red '98 in the lineup. The black one... Just after i had the suspension redone, n b4 the time n bodywork my Dad put into it. 70,000 or so miles on the clock. Pic was actually taken on my birthday. Happy Day, for me, for lotsa reasons. Lotta changes since then. bottjernat1 2,190 #646 Posted August 25, 2020 My late dad owned a few old trucks. He owned a 49 dodge flatbed once talk about a pooch. That truck had no guts. Then I remember our 1951 ford f7 I miss it the most. That truck had a flathead v8 in it totally rebuilt by my dad and uncle jim. Then a 1960 ford custom cab i sold when he died and the last truck was our 1964 ford f600 it was south milfords water tanker my late dad bought it with only like 2364 miles on it. When i sold it to a kid locally it had only 17,000 original miles. I miss the old gal everyday. It went to a good home tho. I didnt want it to sit i was afraid she would rot into the earth and i didnt want that. it fired up every time. it sat ever sisnce my dad died i went out to my inlaws and started it and checked her fluid every once in a while. It is now on the road again i keep in touch with the kid i sold it to his friend bought it. I drove the old girl to my last day of highschool with my now wife. It was a hit at the school!

Achto 27,567 #649 Posted August 25, 2020 Must be my week to find old red ish trucks. I spied this '48 Willy's in a local parking lot & had to go talk with the owner. He stubbed a GM metric frame on to the front for independent suspension and disc brakes. Under the hood a mild GM 350 powers a 700R4 transmission and finally a Ford 9" rear end puts the power to the wheels. From the factory these Willy's trucks had a top end of about 45mph, 50 if you where gong down a big hill & pushed the clutch in. With the modifications that where done, this truck is now a real nice daily driver. 3
bottjernat1 2,190 #650 Posted August 25, 2020 Welp found the original title my dad had for the 64 ford f600 when he bought it from the fire department. I took photos of it before i transferred it to my name and sold it. look at the miles! The sad thing was they drove it on the trailer but hauled it home with a stinkin chevy. LOL 1
