The “Zombie Killer” looks like an absolute blast to take the kids to the store in! The Shaggin’ Waggin’ looks like a remake of the van in Dumb and Dumber! Kelli and I finished the resto on our 1969 GTO right at the end of 2000. We were also in the process of a winter build on our home at the time. We moved in early January but had much to do to finish the house over the spring/summer/fall of 2001. THEN... This picture was taken the first time that the GTO was at our house. It was following the Memorial Day car show in Omro 2001. I had stored it the previous winter in a storage unit. You can see that we didn’t have our lawn in yet, nor the garage built, nor the final grade soil pushed around. Just me, my young beautiful bride, our first home, and my dream car... NOW... Same beautiful bride! Same dream car! Same starter home! The BEST additions to our lives EVER! They day I brought my ‘69 C-10 home, I realized I was just the temporary owner... and my oldest Jada would some day have a vintage truck. The only problem, is finding something for the younger one, then me! These were ALL WHEEL drive though with lockers front and back, almost impossible to get them stuck with the right tires. Its fun to dream!!! I did get permission from @PeacemakerJack to insert these trucks in here beforehand. All of these vehicles other than the SS were purchased new, and don't mind my fishing buddy in here pretending to be fishing before we launch the boat at the ramp, he does not get to go that often and gets a little excited when he does. As a matter of fact he bought the K 2500 ext cab from me in 2005 and still owns it with 175000 miles on it, I have been trying to buy it back but to no avail. That beastly one ton with the utility box on it is now almost 20 years old (which puts it into the “antique” status here in Wisconsin! It feels weird to think that for me because 2001-2 only feels like a couple of years ago! i know I posted this one a few pages back but this was my dad’s oldest brothers truck. He bought it second hand in 1974. It was two years old at the time and became his daily driver. I remember riding to school in it with my aunt and five of my cousins!!!! Those were the days, who says you need an extended cab😂? Anyway, that truck was pretty rusty by 1982 and dad did a bunch of bodywork on it and painted it. These pictures were taken a short while after he had finished it. In 1990, my cousin managed to roll it on some icey roads only a mile or so from home. That truck seemed old to me at that time and it was only 18 years old. My current daily driver just turned 25!!!! Time certainly is relative. so... @JCM I really like the look of all those Chevy’s and my guess is that both @pullstart and @WVHillbilly520H are going to be fans when they see them too. I have always liked the A-body GM vehicles (partial to GTO’s as you guys know) but there are few things cooler than a 1970 Chevelle SS LS6. That seemed to me like the epitome of the musclecar era. Hard to imagine in just a few years the American auto industry would be struggling to field a vehicle with 200hp and styling that rivaled a cookstove in appeal🤢! Thankfully in the last 10 years we have seen some vehicles that can excite the emotions again. Josh, I was only adding to your "muscle car era" and yes the 60s and early 70s was the epitome of the GM FORD & MOPAR era "big block" engines in smaller bodies... All the car magazines of the 80s/90s high lighted the 50-60-70 era cars and still do for the most part but the G body which took place of the A body is starting to be the next generation of body on frame "muscle" Camaro/Firebird Mustang in my opinion are PONY cars ... And for the record you Josh have a true factory Muscle car the GTO ... my lil beater was basically an enemic gas sipping grocery getter from the factory I just happened to take it up a notch or 2 to what I remembered the most as I was coming of age. I have one of those trucks! Its a 71 C10 250, 3 OTT. Its a project! The 250 runs awesome.
