dells68 7,498 #1 Posted December 27, 2017 Mods, please move this to the appropriate place. While scanning Craigslist, I found a Wheel Horse snowmobile for sale near Winston Salem North Cackalacky. Only one pic, but looks nice. Price is $1400. Just don't see these very often and thought someone here might be interested. Below is a pic I pulled from the listing.
Pollack Pete 2,273 #2 Posted December 27, 2017 Better be REAL nice for that price.Seen one here in upstate NY less than a year ago.It was like 300 bucks.I'm sure parts are like hens teeth.
dells68 7,498 #3 Posted December 27, 2017 Yeah, seems pretty high to me too. Something you just don't see down here in the south. Tractors are the same though - much cheaper the farther north you go, but fairly rare and high priced where I live. I'm sure that's driving the price. I can't imagine trying to find parts. dells68 7,498 #5 Posted December 27, 2017 Wow! Now that's slick! Hadn't ever wanted a snowmobile, but might consider it if I lived farther north and could get a nos one!
AMC RULES 37,130 #6 Posted December 27, 2017 NOS, but missing it's windshield. Seems the common thing most are missing.
dells68 7,498 #7 Posted December 27, 2017 Sadly, we usually only get enough snow to plow once or twice each year. Could enough redneck engineering adapt them to mudding?
ACman 7,618 #9 Posted December 27, 2017 (edited) With the boogie wheel rear suspension you don’t need a lot of snow to ride. Grass drags are fun to watch and participate in too . Edited December 27, 2017 by ACman
dells68 7,498 #10 Posted December 27, 2017 I'm kind of digging the barstool go cart!

Pullstart 62,905 #12 Posted August 16, 2018 I see some posts about having or finding snowmobiles, but is there any information on them? Who made the engines, any common parts with other sleds? Particularly a Safari 309 model, if that matters...
