Adams94 1,068 #1 Posted December 24, 2017 I got this 310-8 when I bought my loader and I'm parting it out, I have noticed it appears to have bigger front wheels than the other 310-8s i found pictures of. Did the previous owner install the heavy duty spindle kit for loaders? How do you tell? Thanks
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,081 #2 Posted December 24, 2017 Here is one of the kits that were available. The angle at the bend in the spindle identifies it as HD. Click on the picture. Garry

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,333 #6 Posted December 24, 2017 That is interesting that a heavy duty kit was made for the C's and 300 400 series.

I just learned about it reading up on the loader I got. In the loader book it tells you to install this kit and put all tires to 25-30 psi

Garry I was told by my dealer friend that wheel horse / Toro offered a heavy duty axle for the 520's for use on loader tractors, I believe he said that they where hardened steel. I had heard of the heavy duty front axles for the loader for sometime now, I had heard about them I believe even before I bought my 416-8 from Wild Bill several years ago at the big show with my 2 stage blower attached to it. Bill had installed a brand new kit on the tractor when he installed the blower. I removed the blower but the kit is still on the 416-8. I believe that mine has 3/4" spindle through the axle, but 1" spindle axle for the tires and heavy roller bearings but not the jam nut just a cotter pin or hair pin clip. I know that the dust cap is bigger that the standard cap eric j
wallfish 17,056 #12 Posted December 24, 2017 Both of mine are just 3/4 spindles with the support brace added. The rims are different and accept a larger wheel bearing. The HD spindles also came factory on the 418-C.
