Now I just have to go get them. It will be Wed or Thursday, but they will make it home this week. I need a tank for the C160 Auto, but I'll post that over in the wanted section. OK guys heres the pics. 1976 C-160 Auto 1971 Lawn Ranger
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #2 Posted January 22, 2008 Joel, You do know that the engine in that C-160 IS in correctly? I wouldn't want you thinking that someone put the engine in sideways! With all your vertical engines, how did this one slip in. :D
kj4kicks 151 #3 Posted January 22, 2008 Way to go Joel...... .... and welcome to the dark side..... (horizontal shafts, you know)

combatmp29r 27 #5 Posted January 22, 2008 Terry JD type the price was right!! Eldon, I have 2 other horizontals. They just don't get out much and I don't advertise such things. TT, SHHHHHHHH don't give away ALL my secrets :D
Rollerman 290 #6 Posted January 22, 2008 I once seen an RJ35 converted over to a vertical shaft engine...yes But something to think about Joel...why conform... :D
combatmp29r 27 #7 Posted January 22, 2008 You'd be amazed what can be done with a couple idlers and some belt twistsin :D
combatmp29r 27 #8 Posted January 22, 2008 Awwww Man I gotta change my signature Oh I guess mike will have to too :P
combatmp29r 27 #9 Posted January 23, 2008 OK its official I will be at Mike's (C-Series14) to pick up the C-160 and Lawn Ranger this evening somewhere around 5:30. Then probably sleeping in the shed with the herd after I deal with the wife :D
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #10 Posted January 23, 2008 Joel, Is this a long trip for you - how close are you to Mike? I can emphatize with you on the wife thing. I been in the doghouse a time or two... :D
combatmp29r 27 #11 Posted January 23, 2008 Were about 30 miles apart. So it isn't a long haul by any means. I went past TT in PA over the summer to pick a couple up. 9 hours each way Now that was a haul :P
Rollerman 290 #12 Posted January 23, 2008 4/5 hours is the longest I went for a horse...while visiting friends along the way. The PA show is gonna be the longest I've been for the hobby yet...."Karl need a hitch hikeing smilie?"...or should I say Jason? My wife know's I'd have to move tractors outside to make room to sleep....& I won't do that. :P
C-Series14 15 #13 Posted January 24, 2008 Joel left awhile ago, I am glad he had a small trailer or he probably would of tried loading more tractors! I had the guard dogs keeping an eye on him! Strange though, he went out the driveway headed the other way, maybe he found some free horses down the road I missed???? :P
CasualObserver 3,408 #14 Posted January 24, 2008 I'm sure he just planned ahead against any ambush waiting for him to make the same return trip... that's just good military strategy at work there! :D
Rollerman 290 #15 Posted January 24, 2008 Mike....Joel probably seen another Areins that way. :D
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #16 Posted January 24, 2008 Maybe he's planning a sneak attack and had to see which is the quickest get-away route. :D
combatmp29r 27 #17 Posted January 24, 2008 :( Ok well the horses are home. Yes its a day later than they were loaded. The trip went great till about 5 miles out. Hopped off the 4 lane onto a 2 lane to go around town, had a semi throw who knows what under the trailer, but it took out the drivers side tire and also that fender Of course the spare wouldn't work 9 at night no tire shop open and too cold with my 2 year old to break it down myself I had to limp the trailer into a trucking company lot (I know the owner) and leave it for the night Went and got it this morning. We changed the tire in the trucking companies garage and found out whatever it was I hit, cracked the mag rim too. So as all can imagine boy am I in the dog house now. On the good side though, brought home a 1976 C-160 auto model 61-16KS01 with hydraulic lift, a 1971 lawn ranger model???? with a replacement sears tecumseh on it. A spare set of Carlisle 23x8.50-12 turf tires, another set of bare 7x12 rims, 2 stackable 12" wheel weights, and an older snow plow. Straight A frame style 56" long. I'd have tried to talk Mike out of more, but ran out of trailer OK enough of a book Pics coming soon
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #18 Posted January 24, 2008 Man, Joel, that stinks (the trailer tire thing). And it took out the fender too, man that does stink. Sounds like you made out pretty good on this round-up. Good job. :D
Rollerman 290 #19 Posted January 24, 2008 Sounds like a good haul with some perks ontop of the tractors. Sorry to hear about the trailer too. How extensive is the fender repair going to be? Da@#g truck drivers!!!...wait I'm a truck driver. :P
combatmp29r 27 #20 Posted January 24, 2008 Terry yes it does stink. The good thing about it though is I built the entire trailer including the fenders (bent them out of 1/8" plate) so it wil be an easy fix. When it gets warmer Ok here are the pics The haul The extras Lawn ranger and you can see the missing fender and new tire The C160
combatmp29r 27 #21 Posted January 24, 2008 Stephen, It jyust snapped my welds off on the fender, and bent one end up. Oh and a little road rash. Heres a couple pics. Guess I built them pretty sturdy
Rollerman 290 #22 Posted January 24, 2008 Good deal Joel. That Lawn Ranger though...was it originally 2 colors ar is that from sun fadeing? Looks to be in good shape body wise..it is that same stuff thay make the last C series fenders out of right...FRP?
Rollerman 290 #23 Posted January 24, 2008 Oh & Joel...bring your trailer up to my place. I'll weld the fender back on...need some practice & always good to have company. :D
combatmp29r 27 #24 Posted January 24, 2008 Stephen, no its faded. The front grill area is shot on the hood. The later ones or maybe replacement ones were steel instead of fiberglass. The fenders are glass too not the plastic like the c__5 series fenders. I'd bring it up, but not sure I want to drag it far with that mag rim cracked like it is. I'll have to scower ebay and the local swap meets for an extra. Looks like its time to buy some junk yard steel rims for now :D
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #25 Posted January 24, 2008 Your trailer was almost too small for that load - the Lawn Ranger was hanging on for dear life. What are you going to do with the faded fender on the Lawn Ranger? Is it a donor or will it see new life. :D
