TimH 105 #1 Posted December 2, 2017 Trying to get Next door plow installed. Thinking parts are missing I have it already mounted to rear mounts. But need to know what I need to finish mounted at the lift chain ? Thanks
SylvanLakeWH 25,927 #2 Posted December 2, 2017 You are missing the small bar that goes between the plow frame and the lift arm. See pics...
oldredrider 2,549 #3 Posted December 2, 2017 You can also use a short piece of chain instead of the bar. Chain would connect plow lift hole to hole in lift arm.

Tankman 3,518 #5 Posted December 3, 2017 Two lengths lifts. Easy to make from flatbar. 4
TimH 105 #6 Posted December 4, 2017 I got the link made and installed. Now I could use some suggestions on getting the plow controls to work. Looks like we might need to change muffler and make 2 bends in control are. What do you all think ?

I've never seen a straight one, but I'm no expert

I am confused now though, this first one shown in this link is bent differently than mine, mine is like the one near the bottom in the truck bed. Maybe Lowell will sell you just a handle. At least I think this is Lowell's sitehttps://www.wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/brackets-linkages.html This is what mine looks like. Minus Ed Kennels spacer solution. I used a few washers, his solution is much nicer.
WVHillbilly520H 10,374 #10 Posted December 5, 2017 Mine had a double bend so it wouldn't catch on the muffler but after getting the frame extension kit I had to straighten it out a bit, Jeff.
Tankman 3,518 #11 Posted December 7, 2017 Cut the handle and weld a piece in, horizontal. Worked great, Rustoleum Regal Red. Done just that a few times. Use coarse skateboard grip tape on the footrests. One piece does both footrests. Holds up seemingly forever. Inexpensive too.

elcamino/wheelhorse 9,353 #13 Posted December 8, 2017 While we are on the subject of snow plows what is the correct length of the rod that goes from the bottom of the handle to the blade ? I had to make on up with pieces and parts of rod , but I think the length is incorrect. I pull back on the handle and it hits the foot rest, Push all the way forward and I can wipe the dust of the front of the hood. This is on a 416 standard front end. I think Ed's spacer will solve hitting the foot rest.
cleat 6,337 #14 Posted December 8, 2017 Mine is roughly 36 7/8" long end to end but I made up my own handle assembly. I also made the rod adjustable with a connector in the middle. 3

I did have to turn the handle backward, and space it out with some washers, but it worked great, didn't hit, and the throw was easy from the seat. And it never hit the front tires with swept axle. After the kit, I have to lean around to turn the blade to the left, and the handle almost hits the PTO. I think I may take the kit back off.
