What was the $ damage for the 4 tires? And do the steer any better than the turf style?

Not bad less then $180 for all four of them, tires-easy.com is where I got mine.

Them seem to I haven't had much of a chance to test them out I need to mow to really test them

Thanks! Wish there was someway I could sell them, but the time I spent on it would make it cost way to much.

Yeah. Totally understandable.

Probably going to scare me with the answer but do you have any idea how many hours you actually have into that thing including painting and everything like that?

Well if you don't include fixing my screwup with the clear coat. Probably around 6-7 hours.

Well maybe you need to create one of those Niche markets where you can get a hundred bucks a piece for them and then you could make a good living.....

Honestly the best idea for mass scale production would be a 3d printer (not to give anyone any ideas ;) ) not to mention a lot of other cool stuff that could be done for these horses.

The other thing I was thinking is if I can make a mold for it to melt plastic in not sure I have the ability to do that though.

It dried up enough today to get to mow and man its nice the front tires do help its not like a huge difference but there is. Besides its awesome to look down at your front tires and just see tri ribs.

And then I washed the tractor when I was done mowing as it was a little dirty.

I got some more trans oil and I will change it out again because on the dipstick it's still a little foamy and why not? :)

The other thing is I saw some stacks at TSC and there are flappers as well all for a reasonable price I will have to check the sizing exactly but it looks like it will be the right size.

Yeah I want a shorter stack kinda want the old tractor look so I don't know that I will even try to get any chrome on it especially since I want a flapper on it and those don't mix

Cleaned up the shed so I can actually have a decent space in there for the tractor. And got the diff oil replaced so put the old girl in the stable and out of the garage.

On a side note I picked up this Husqvarna 142 for 90 bucks saw on FB marketplace in a nearby town so jumped on it. It was the ladies ex-husbands and she thought he had used it a few times but the tank has never had any gas in it ever..  And the bar has never touched wood. So I was the first one to start it up.

Well I haven't really done a lot to the old girl in a while but while using the bottom plow the belt has been slipping, also in 3rd gear I bought non Toro belt and regretted it. Bought a 7473 belt off eBay and fit perfectly and now no slipping and can actually pull a wheelie in 3rd

Latest update is getting the rear rims repainted with the cottage white and filled with RV antifreeze and chains for winter and the new to me snowblower.

IMG_20241118_174547653.jpg.d98dabe82de1496bfc9517aaf6e09991.jpg

The way I ended up filling them, was by breaking the bead by the valve stem, and dumping the fluid in. Which I think is the way to go if you aren't using inner-tubes. (Very fast and requires no extra stuff to get it done) I did get metal valve stems, to prevent what apparently can be common with the rubber valve stems falling apart. IMG_20241118_173904134.jpg.1b6d43654892ffb1c121d6c12bd25199.jpg

Not sure if I will get to paint the front rims yet this year, I'm thinking that probably will not happen until spring.

Got back to work on this tractor. Getting it ready for a plow day

Got the snowblower off.

IMG_20250309_163116443_HDR.jpg.2966d6c852aed736419ecfffcb303783.jpg

Started working on the original carb the jungle carb does work just not as well as I would like.

Soaked the carb in the ultrasonic cleaner

IMG_20250309_194153118_HDR.jpg.93ab179f4442a30493585ebb95af6238.jpg

I got the brass bushing for the throttle shaft fix

IMG_20250309_182215148.jpg.a621a93482d297562afb68da93e95959.jpg

The throttle shaft has a broken screw in it. Didn't want to deal with drilling and tapping right now I don't have the bit or tap. So got the carb out of the project tractor the Raider 14 which should have had a #28 carb but surprise it did not it, has a #26 carb which after it went through the ultrasonic cleaner the red paint came off to reveal yellow so probably came from a cub 12hp so pulled the throttle shaft out and I will use that on the other carb.

IMG_20250309_205328741_HDR.jpg.142daaa2ddb0f80b60b552b408c42bd3.jpg

This is the yellow this carb also had the idle screw break and the bowl has a pin hole in it so it's a parts carb for now unless I feel like drilling and tapping a bunch haha

Those #26 carbs are common enough that you're just as well off keeping it as a parts carb.

The main needle is worth it. Folks tend to bend those.

The Raider 14 would likely benefit from a #30. Later 14 HP Kohlers had them.

If you want to send that throttle shaft up I'll get the screw out.

Yeah the 14hp should have had the more rare #28 carb as it's the older one with the smaller exhaust valve.

Thanks for the offer, but the screw is out, the threads are a little messed up. It just needs drilled and tapped to 4-40 size.

Since I pulled the throttle shaft out of the yellow carb, I just ordered stainless screws and lock washers for that one.

Especially since I need to get a different carb for the Raider 14 it will end up a parts carb.

Alex .You have come a long way on this tractor. Looks like you have most of the bugs fixed on this. Did you ever find out what year this is?

Thank you!

It does need a rebuilt engine put in it, but I would like to get a K321 14hp to put on it to get it back to its model tag specs.

So yes this is a 1973 tractor that came with a 14hp and 8 speed transmission. Got a 12hp and the C120 decals put on it at some point.

So if I can get a K321 for it I will get new decals for it. Which might mean new paint job... Haha never ends.

It is yours so>>> painting is a pain did it to many times. I just clean every thing down to the frame one part at a time. Enjoy the tractor and the ride when done..

And got the oil changed, changed the coil and swapped out the sparkplug wire to a non-automotive wire (doesn't have resistance)

I haven't got them cleaned up yet, but I am going to get these front wheel weights painted and mounted. IMG_20250310_173001621.jpg.e146cdfbb90f938f296da0de57288e5b.jpg
