Aldon 4,827 #1 Posted October 12, 2017 (edited) Well it's as title indicates. I acquired this one a while while back and got it all spiffied up and oil changed and when I got to hydro I can get the dang plug out. So I'm dragging it to Stevebo's and hopefully with a ton of foremen we will get it out and fluid changed. but I know the plug will need replaced. Can anyone tell me what npt size this plug is? So I can grab one to install when and if we are successful. Edited October 12, 2017 by Aldon

shallowwatersailor 3,213 #3 Posted October 12, 2017 I am a firm believer in magnetic drain plugs for engines and gear sumps. I have these on my tractors, #IP-02. These are a direct replacement for the OEM plug. 6

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,102 #6 Posted October 13, 2017 Make my own. Drill a hole and drop the magnet in. Can't get it back out if I wanted to. http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=32065&cat=1,42363,42348 Garry 1
Pollack Pete 2,273 #7 Posted October 13, 2017 I've had a couple Horses that I couldn't get that damn allen plug out.The inside hex rounds out real easy.I've had to drill them out. When I replace them,I use a standard 1/4 inch pipe plug.Has an external square head. Also use Teflon tape on the threads. The tape not only seals the threads,it makes the plug easier to remove next time.Good luck with yours. 1
cleat 6,363 #8 Posted October 13, 2017 Standard pipe plug will be the easiest to remove. Square head is OK. Hex head is best. However, If you use the rear attachamatic for a front or mid blade for example, it will hit the plug if it is not flush like the original.
WHX?? 49,177 #9 Posted October 13, 2017 Call me cheap but I'm with Garry on making my own. Got a pile of magnets off ebay cheap... They are square head tho. I JB welded them in but doubt if I had to. From my 5060 woes thread...
