Rough Cut 25 #1 Posted September 16, 2017 Just picked this one up. The guy had no clue what it was. Neither do I. It's a project tractor for a neighbor kid that helps me around here a lot. It has a deck with it that is in pretty good shape. $140 Is what I gave for it. Any ideas? Oh ya I think serial number has been painted over... brush paint job... love it!! 520hC-120 136 #5 Posted September 16, 2017 That looks like a 856 to me, I'm almost positive
stevasaurus 22,681 #6 Posted September 16, 2017 That sure is looking like a short frame , square hood. Is that an 8 hp Kohler?? Maybe 855, 856. 857...would be years 1965, 1966, 1967. Show us a picture of the dash...that would help.
953 nut 54,979 #7 Posted September 16, 2017 I know that teats are easy to replace, but with that seat I would say 857. Take a look at the dash riser just under the dash there should be a metal tag with a model number.
stevasaurus 22,681 #8 Posted September 16, 2017 Another thing to do...see that rectangle in the belt guard?? Take some Acetone on a rag and "gently rub" that square...soften the paint and it will wipe off...could be a nice sticker under the paint. Do the same thing with the paint on the dash tower.
