I’m thinking about led headlights, so the charging circuit is the only concern. Run a wire from the regulator directly to the starter solenoid battery cable lug with a 30A inline fuse. The early 520's did this and it really takes a lot of load off of the 9 pin. Here is the early wire diagram for reference.
