WVHillbilly520H 10,374 #2 Posted August 28, 2017 From the deck I have in my 1st pic the lift rod from the tractor goes into the slotted hole directly above the drive pulley then the rod at the front that rolls around between the mower lift/stabilizer arms goes up into the mid attach-a-matic on the cross bar there's a "v" that has to align with the mid hitch before rotating the lock, Jeff. 520hC-120 136 #3 Posted August 28, 2017 (edited) Yes, and the cross bar with the v has bands on the sides which will not let my locks go on completely and the lift arm doesn't let me lift the deck completely to the frames bracket Edited August 28, 2017 by 520hC-

Connect it and post a picture. Someone may see the problem. Here's pics of mine ... your's should look the same. Edited August 28, 2017 by N3PUY

N3PUY 1,031 #8 Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) I SEE A GAP IN YOUR ATTACH-A MATIC PLATE AND LOCK LEVERS. LOOKS LIKE THEY AREN'T WIDE ENOUGH TO LOCK BESIDE THE BANDS. I THINK YOUR'S GOT BENT SIDEWAYS. Edited August 29, 2017 by N3PUY 1
520hC-120 136 #9 Posted August 29, 2017 So should I buy new attach-a-matic system
TDF5G 2,069 #10 Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) You don't have it mounted properly as other members have pointed out. I don't think you need new parts. First, the lift bar peg (on the tractor) needs to go into the oblong slot on top of the mower deck carriage. The deck has to be slid in from the right side of the tractor to do this. Then you need to center the cross shaft (of the same carriage assembly) on your deck between the mid mount attach-a-matic bracket on the tractor. Make sure the lock lever moves all the way back under the cross shaft until the release pin pops out and you should be good to go. There is also a u shaped alignment piece that needs to go in it's proper place also on the carriage assembly. I can see why it keeps falling down. Study the details of N3PUY's pics and you'll get it on there correctly. He is correct about the gap. IMO I doubt it is bent though. It looks to me like the shaft needs to be moved to the left in that pic where he points out the gap. I've found an easy way for me to mount the deck is after sliding it underneath the tractor and putting the lift bar peg in the slot, I stand directly in front of the tractor facing it, I lean over and lay my chest on the hood then push up on the lift handle with my left hand hand while lining up the deck carriage assembly into the attach-a-matic with my right hand. The chain should be attached to the lift arm, and trunnion connected to the rock shaft above it.

Lee1977 6,872 #13 Posted September 1, 2017 I can't tell from your picture, but the fork on the hitch of the deck should go on the upper rod in the tractor hitch.
