Tgtack 779 #1 Posted August 26, 2017 Driving to Athens Ohio tomorrow (3.5hrs) to pick up my new trailer to haul the tractors around on. My little 5'×10' Carry On is just too small and flexes too much. Picking up a new Diamond C, 7'×14' tandem axle utility trailer. Painted a nice bright red! Has black rims, so guess I will have to paint them the same as the tractor rims. Little more than I wanted to spend, but the extra $500 gets me a much sturdier trailer than getting another Carry On brand tandem, plus I get a bunch of adds on including the bifold gate and a PPG automotive paint finish.
oliver2-44 9,678 #3 Posted August 26, 2017 Very nice. Someday I hope to replace my home built 4x8 with one that size.

Sarge 3,463 #5 Posted August 26, 2017 No tie down provisions on the floor or outside frame ? Otherwise , looks well built - far better than the US Cargo I'm repairing . Sarge
Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #6 Posted August 26, 2017 That's a pretty serious trailer! What's it weigh unloaded? Mike....
JAinVA 4,619 #7 Posted August 26, 2017 That should get the job done.Looks like tie downs in each corner,a plate with three holes. Is that correct?JAinVA

Sarge It has triple loop tie downs on each corner welded to the frame. Plan on adding some flush deck tie downs also. 7 hours ago, Sparky said: That's a pretty serious trailer! What's it weigh unloaded? Mike.... It's around 1540 lbs empty. It tows effortlessly, and since it is a tandem, no bouncing in the middle. 5 hours ago, JAinVA said: That should get the job done.Looks like tie downs in each corner,a plate with three holes. Is that correct?JAinVA Yep. The mesh makes them hard to see. 19 hours ago, AMC RULES said: Imagine that bad boy loaded up with ... & sporting some linen beige wheels. Definately plan to paint the rims to match the tractors.
Sarge 3,463 #9 Posted August 28, 2017 Ah , I see now - eyes are getting worse for sure , lol . Frame looks quite well built - 2 axle units have to bear the stress so they are usually built heavier than a single axle . I'd love to find a good 7x14 5k single axle , but those are rare and expensive as heck . Should have just scrapped this 6-1/2"x12 - it's cost plenty to repair the mangled tongue and do some upgrades/blasting/painting . Would have been a better move to buy the iron and just build a heavier , new one from scratch . Sarge
