Rollerman 290 #1 Posted January 20, 2008 This is the 701 I mentioned in another thread, went after it this morning. Looks to be pretty clean minus the wrong belt guard & it's missing the double row pullies for the starter ...but still has the right starter belt guard on it! It has a later style long frame 48" snow plow on it with the pin run through the slot hitch hole at the back.... The other is a GT1100 that came with a nice 42" rear discharge deck & several peices of what was once an 11HP B&S engine. I have a K301 here that will go into it & put it back in service. Thanks for the comps guys & I look forward to playing with the Work Horse swapping in the K301...just need to find a Wheel horse spec oil pan for it... Both need work, but the price was very right. After seeing your new toys I want to go get them. Kinda cold though. As for the plow installation on the 701, maybe the guy was like me, Wheel Horse illiterate and said, "Now how does this go, oh yeah, here how it should go." BPjunk 184 #9 Posted January 20, 2008 Steve, That 701 is in very nice shape, the dash does not look like it is broken!!!! You said the engine has only a single groove pulley set up, can you post the engine serial and model numbers? If this engine is a 1962 or newer it will have the internal compression release and not need the double pulley set up. I have a running 1961 K-161 off a 701 if your interested . Bill in Richmond, Va. Rollerman 290 #16 Posted January 21, 2008 Joel the trailer with the ramp gate is my father inlaw's...I hijack it everytime it's empty... I have a 6X12 tilt deck but it bouces all over when empty & you have to beat the pin out with a hammer to tilt it...& a tilt deck is a one shot deal. His ramp gate trailer has a rubber ride axle & brakes! Terry in MO...it works okay I supose...but seems like it be a lot of stress on the back of the trans...will pull it tommorrow. BP it's still sitting on the trailer...I got back to the house ran inside & got under a blanket I figure I'll get back out & unload them about June when it warms up & check the numbers then? Nah...I'll look tommorrow & may shoot you an email & the dash is in good shape! TT...seems a lot of people may have been watching Adam Sandler in "Mr Deeds" lately? Nah it's all good & would not want to work in the cold nor leave in the AM in the cold 5/6 days a week. Actually the 701 had been listed for over a year in a local classified as a 7HP Wheel Horse...no other info. When I called him he emailed the pic & called it a 702? I know...I know...should have been "wicked" honest with the seller & told him it was a very valuable tractor & offer to sell for him on ebay. There is a guy I see posting on YT Classified sections named Steve Johnson that sells a lot of garden tractors. I think he's in either Washington or Oregon. Kinda makes me wonder how mine got bought. I do know the history on it somewhat, it was bought by a large church and used to do the sidewalks, they are a corner lot. I noticed a trend in some of the other purchases this week end. Go after one tractor bring back two, sound like a good formula for filling work shops!
