FatJackDurham 318 #1 Posted August 3, 2017 I swear, I am not a reckless person, quite the opposite, but I can't seem to stop having tractor related accidents. Tonight, while using my newly tuned 416-8 to pull my boat off it's trailer, I stopped and got off the tractor. The tractor was on a flat spot, and I thought I had put it in gear, but it started rolling down the hill towards my boat. I jumped in front of it but couldn't stop it and got my leg pinned between the boat and the tractor pretty bad. I managed to push the tractor off with my other leg, and nothing is broken, but I am a littler worried about deep tissue bruises. Combine that with: Nearly flipping the tractor yesterday driving up a hill in third gear hi (I thought it was in first) Having my GT-14 roll down a hill and smash the door of my car Flipping my Craftsman DLT3000 backwards over me mowing the hill Flipping my Craftsman ZTS 2500 sideways over a stone wall when the wheels spun on some sand while mowing a low hill (different spot) Flipping my Craftsman ZTS 2500 backwards over me mowing the hill (different spot) Flipping my Craftsman Lawn tractor backwards mowing the hill (different spot) Flipping my Craftsman Lawn tractor sideways mowing the hill (different spot) Everywhere I have had an accident, I have been able to mow before without trouble. Just suddenly, a wheel will spin and next thing I know I am flat on my back watching a Craftsman go sailing over my head. So far, I have never been injured beyond being winded, getting a few cuts or a stiff back. Each time it happens, I say, "Well, I guess I won't mow right there again." But things just keep happening. Am I cursed? Am I just stupid? Am I unlucky this keeps happening? Am I lucky this keeps happening and I keep not dying? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
DennisThornton 4,769 #2 Posted August 3, 2017 I suggest it's just "Today!?! We are pushed to do SO much that we don't have time to reflect. (a nice way to say "Think about it!" first!) Pressure! Get it done now! Next! Savor the fact that you are alive and basically unharmed. Ask yourself would you like to stay that way. Would slowing down help? They are selling RV antifreeze for $3/gallon so it cost me about $36 to fill the tires as I didn't use the whole 12 gallons.
