Mal(Pa) 73 #1 Posted July 21, 2017 Hello all, I am from the Mill Hall,Pa area.Been reading forums for a few days and like the friendliness of the people here and all the good info.I have had a wheel horse 210-5 mower with a 36 inch deck for years and like it but needed an upgrade. Looked at a 414-8 with a "I think" a 44 inch rear discharge deck. Man, what a difference; great machine and a pleasure to mow. Will try to get pictures, but too hot out for a 72 year old guy for now. BOB ELLISON 2,981 #2 Posted July 21, 2017 I have a 314-8 and it is a beast of a tractor. The 414-8 is a great tractor and it will do everything you need. There are a lot of older guys here me being one of them to help you with anything wheel horse. When you get it there are manuals here for it and the deck. Welcome to the best wheel horse site in the world.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,041 #3 Posted July 21, 2017 Welcome to the forum. The deck will be a 42" rear discharge to make searching easier and the models in these lists are not necessarily what you have. They did not change much between 1973 and 2007 for that size of tractor. Mal(Pa) 73 #11 Posted July 21, 2017 Thanks everyone for the great welcome. I do have a question- how to post a picture. Can I download one from my computer to this site or do I have to download it to a hosting site then to this site? Can anyone suggest a site? Thanks,Mal

Tuneup 1,433 #19 Posted July 23, 2017 Well taken care of. Is there sag on the front of that deck? Can't quite tell but it would be a linkage look-see. Shouldn't they be a little higher front to back? Excellent score! Welcome!
Mal(Pa) 73 #20 Posted July 23, 2017 (edited) Tuneup, I adjusted the deck when I put it on with the height set at the half way point on a level floor and I put a level on it and it looked good. Am I missing something? I need to learn the tractors. Thanks Mal Edited July 23, 2017 by Mal(Pa)
