K241 throttle cable....

Recommended Posts

Finishing up a Raider 10 work horse and for some reason the throttle cable route doesn't look right. I disassemble this last fall and I know I should have taken pics..but I didn't. Anyway cable is original so nothing has changed but it routes right over the exhaust. I have no extra length to re-route elsewhere. Does this look right to you guys?  Actually it binds if I try to move it under the exhaust.

Looks like your cable/throttle arm pivot is mounted in the wrong hole.

Try moving it up to the shiney hole above and to the right  (in the first pic).

WHX??

It should go under the exhaust as well but you may have to lose the engine block clamp. I just have the one on the breather and it works well.  I just replaced one with one of these and were extra long so had to cut off for that just right fit. http://www.psep.biz/store/toro_mower_cables.htm

Thanks guys for the extra set of eyes. The arm pivot was in the wrong hole. Moved everything around and the cable is off the exhaust and works fine. Started her up after a ring job and she ran fine for the first time in 25 years.
