trevor 12 #1 Posted May 13, 2017 Hello, I bought a d160 recently and hooked up the tiller but the tiller won't engage. The pto belt looks like it needs to be changed. What size of belt? How do I remove the belt, is there a tensioner or something? Thanks.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,032 #2 Posted May 13, 2017 Added to this page Belt number 103084 no longer available from Toro. It is listed as a B x 37.5" or 5/8" x 37.5". These belts only come in even inches and don't know if a 37" or a 38" is best. Looks like the two front bearing supports are slotted to allow up and down adjustment. "D"- Man 827 #3 Posted May 13, 2017 Not sure which model D-160 that you have, but if it takes the Part #103084 I have one for sale if you need one. As Gary stated the bearing on the front is adjustable, so is the bearing in the middle. Be sure to loosen this middle bearing every time you adjust the tension. Failing to do so may cause the P.T.O. shaft to be in a bind. After the tension is set on the front then tighten the mid bearing.
trevor 12 #4 Posted May 13, 2017 Ok I am a bit confused. Model 61-60s01 11985 6061. How do you loosen the bearing?(relatively new to mechanical stuff but want to learn). Also what size is the split ring on the lower pulley, I removed thinking it would remove the pulley but no luck. Thanks Trevor.
pfrederi 17,663 #5 Posted May 13, 2017 (edited) The shaft is moved by loosening the bolts holding the front an middle bearing brackets. #1 and #21 in pictures. Download the installation manual here it will help you. The manual shows a woodruff key in the pulley yours and mine have a spllned shaft and pulley. Edit: I had the wrong PTO manual. trevor 12 #6 Posted May 14, 2017 Ok, do you mean #1 and #19? Also "D"- Man i was looking on the net and they are saying the 38 in belt is considered replacement. Is your the 37 1/2? also what is the risk of using a larger belt, wearing out faster? Will it work using a bigger belt of will it slip too much?? Can you send me a msg as to the cost of the belt you are selling, i live in Wpg manitoba canada so i will have to be shipped. thanks guys!!! https://www.terapeak.com/worth/premium-replacement-belt-for-wheel-horse-1023084-103084-5-8x38/172131520594/
