8363 Hydraulic Control Valve Picture?

Recommended Posts

ztnoo

Would anyone happen to have the 8363 hydraulic control valve with operates the cylinder which lifts the mower deck off your tractor???
I need a pic of the bottom side of that valve. The valve part number is 8363.
I need to replace the spool valve seals inside the valve body on my tractor (they are leaking profusely) and I'm trying to figure out a way to do that without tearing the tractor half way apart.
The seal kit instructions from Lowell (wheelhorseman1000 at Red Square) says the spool valve is secured with a snap ring on the bottom of the valve body.
I need to understand what the bottom of the valve looks like and then find a way to get the valve body out, get the new seals installed on the spool valve, and get it reinstalled as easily as possible with a minimum amount of wrenching.

If you don't have a pic of that, could you snap and post or send me a few views of it???
A pic of the bottom of that valve might help steer me in what I may try or not try do.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Here's my post on this at RS:

Thanks,

Steve

Was this control valve unique to GTs?    My Chargers and Electros show ##6621

I believe so.

I got that idea from Lowell's spool seal kit text, although I do not know that for a fact.

I don't know if this is like your valve but it may help.

JPWH,

Is there a part number stamped or cast into the valve body somewhere???

This doesn't look exactly like what I'm seeing from the top of my control valve.

Looks like yours has a spring fastening affair in the assembly on the bottom.

Mine is suppose to have a snap ring on the bottom.

This is the back under the mounting bracket.

Thanks for the pic.

The markings in the casting don't immediately mean anything to me at the moment, but down the line somewhere it probably will.

@ztnoo In this photo...the screw and washer and spring that I was talking about in your previous thread.

This screw is threaded into the bottom of the spool. When the screw is removed, the spool will come out the top of the valve.....(with handle removed 1st)!

JPWH,

I would appear the valve you displayed in your pics is in fact the same as mine. So it must be the WH 8363 control valve

With the bracket removed on mine, this is what is reads:

FAWICK

400 076  1

I'm not sure, but I would assume this was the manufacturer and their part number???

Is the valve you pictured being used in something, or is it a spare valve you have laying around?

I need to know exactly what the screw and the bottom of the control valve is doing when you operate the lever, in both directions.

Does it remain stationary then the lever is operated in either direction, or does it move up or down any???

Thanks,

Steve

It is a spare I picked up with some other parts. I can get you more pictures or send you the valve if you want.

Question for all the hydraulic gurus here on RS.
Are there any functional differences between the 6621 and the 8363 hydraulic lift valves.
I am aware of the slight physical differences between the two valves, but are there any differences regarding flow rates, differences in which hose opening/port does what, or fitting sizes???
Are these two valves interchangeable in a real world, practical, functional sense???
