YOUR FARTHEST TRACTOR TRIP(s)

Recommended Posts

Chris G

I guess my longest horse related trip would have been running around NY for a total of 983 miles collecting tractors. Then taking a trip from Bergen NY to Omaha, Nebraska to deliver them. Them we continued down to Hastings, Nebraska for a Chevy pickup and drove back to NY.

Seeing this thread, we might want to have a thread on the most you hauled at one time.  I see several posts that have a lot of tractors in one haul.

Well, not me personally, but this past summer my E-141 went to the big show from New York with @buckrancher, my yard art suburban came from Pennsylvania with @mike’shorsebarn to the big show, and @Pullstart then brought them to my place on his way home… then my predator build C-6.5 jumped in @Pullstart’s trailer as payment for a delivery job well done!!! Whew…!!!

I once drove my C-175 about 1/2 mile up the road to get gas.

By the time I got back, I had to go again!

We go 600+ miles each way annually for Horses… and somehow have never gone to the Big Show without getting more tractors

Come spring time, I’ll be going over 900 miles each way for a nice haul….

Not a Wheel Horse but this past Monday a gentleman drove to me (Green Bay, WI) from New Jersey for a Case 644 I had for sale. Thought that was pretty crazy.

I think the Only way I would go Far for a Tractor is for My Great Uncle's 1929 John Deere Model A. But it would 1st Have to Take a 16,664 nautical mile boat trip to get back to the USA from Perth, Australia. I would be willing to Pick it Up at the Port of Los Angeles where we shipped it from In 1990 That would be 4,014 miles round trip to the Port of LA. Other than something like that, I Never travel further than an 8 hr round trip to pick up a tractor  I had considered a buy now on eBay for a T/WH 314H from 750-miles away or 1,500 miles round trip. But I just hate driving the older I have gotten.

Back In 1999 I was Back In Illinois On Leave  I bought my 1999 White GT2055 with 50-inch deck and Kwik-way Loader  and hauled it Back to the Fort Drum, NY area and that was 805 Miles one way Through Canada.

When we Moved Back to Illinois In 2002 The Army Shipped my White GT2055, John Deere 425 Both with Loaders, Ingersoll 3016PS and an assortment of attachments back to Illinois.  They looked at me and said you have got to be kidding, at the time. It ended up being a Two semi truck Move for the Moving company with are Household Goods (we Lived off Post) so we had a Lot of crap with those Garden Tractors:handgestures-thumbupleft:

This afternoon / evening I drove 180 miles round trip to get a few parts for my RJ restoration.  4 hours driving and 2.5 hours talking mostly about tractors. It was a good productive trip.

I've driven 600 miles round trip several different times for a tractor. Last summer while visiting family in Northern Minnesota I found a gravely sulky sitting in the weeds on my Uncle's farm. I brought that home, I wouldn't have drove 2200 miles round trip for a sulky but it was part of the trip so that would be the furthest from home I found a piece of equipment to bring home.

@clueless Chris bought a Suburban (RJ?) from @Jake Kuhn at Scott’s meet and greet a good long while ago.  That was FL to northern IN.

Chris is the bearded man between @stevasaurus and I, which was the first time the Dino met either of us.  Henceforth, for many a years to come, Chris was Kevin and I was Chris!

Handy Don

Not sure what my longest trip was, probably 4 hours (250-ish miles) each way to the Big Show.

But my shortest was 0 miles! PO delivered it to me and put it right in my garage.

Fixing to do a 300 mile one way trip this weekend to pick up an 854. However if the PO wasn’t going to Ohio for vacation I’d have a 500 mile one way to PA. Whew!

Trina and I are scheduled to make a run to Highland NY, then an hour south to get 2 tractors this month on the 15th.

@Herder and @Handy Don have them waiting for us.

Following that we'll be taking a side route through RI to see @ri702bill.

Haven't added up the mileage. Should be 700 to 800 round trip including some scenic routes.
