WHX?? 48,771 #8 Posted April 11, 2017 I dunno Dan ...another dinner out night might appease her! By the way since this is my thread and I can go what kind of crack were we on when we checked that 241 bore.....come to find out it was already bored to .030! And I ordered rings for .010? I guess I should have sobered up and saw the .030 on top the piston instead of the .003 I thought my eyes had saw. Oh well $it happens... ain't been my first screw up and morn' likely wont' be my last! Richard...that's enough! So back to reel mowers. .. @Rp.wh has got him down to 275 on the mower, is that good? I have no clue.

DennisThornton 4,769 #12 Posted April 11, 2017 From what I've seen nothing beats a reel cut! 'course you got to mow often.
Tankman 3,518 #13 Posted April 11, 2017 Used to tow a set of gang reels, 8 ft cut. Mowing wasn't a problem. The Mrs. did an excellent job while I was at wo.....wo.......WORK. The idea is, mow wide, mow often. With the Horse pulling, piece of cake.

Must be why golf courses use them.... they have them ganged up to enormous widths! How many guys had to push one of these around in their youth! Was always reel fun when the grass was wet! DennisThornton 4,769 #16 Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) I have 3 or so and have thought about ganging them. My Grandpa used one and I've mowed with one enough to know I love my Wheel Horses! Wonderful cut though! Edited April 11, 2017 by DennisThornton Wonderful cut though!

Purchased the set new from a going out of business warehouse. Did pull the gang easily with an 8 hp Horse. The idea is, riding, whatever machine, mow, mow, mow. Slow down (mow less often) a bit during dry weather; i.e.: August. Was studying agronomy at Penn State at the time, my lawns were textbook.
