farmer 1,075 #176 Posted June 25, 2017 Ok update, most of the project has received two coats of undercoat so I'm inching along, I plan on using this loader 'in anger' in Sept/Oct so I've created a deadline for myself. Patience loading shovel fans!

farmer 1,075 #180 Posted May 27, 2018 Really sorry for not giving an update for so long but I have good news, l got everything under coated last summer but missed the weather for top coating. I have some time now and it’s nice and warm so I’m well on towards completion. I’m keen to share this project with RS so as soon as I’m done I’ll be posting.
farmer 1,075 #181 Posted June 16, 2018 It’s been awhile, but I’m back. The last proper update was just over a year ago, undercoating happened last summer then nothing till about a month ago. Well what a difference a month can make, ‘TIS DONE! Well all bar wiring the lights, getting some decals and sorting out a new silencer. Here are some pics from a week ago If you would like more pics of it nearly done I’ll post, or want to wait for the finished item... let me know. 9

farmer 1,075 #186 Posted July 14, 2018 (edited) After my last update I set too and completed the wiring which was pretty straight forward, basically LED work lights and a LED tail light (don’t want to get rear ended) Then the sound system got tackled, this involved removing the old exhaust nipple and fitting a new slightly longer one allowing a better fit for the silencer. A couple of days ago my decals arrived. Thank you very much Mark and Ewan (RESTORATION DECALS.CO.UK) you make excellent decals (trouble is they make my paint look like cr@p). So this evening after dinner I spent a very pleasant hour applying them and here’s a pic, more tomorrow. Curse you LED. dells68 7,498 #187 Posted July 15, 2018 @farmer, me thinks you're teasing us too much! Come on, we're dying to see pics of this beast!! Awesome build!
farmer 1,075 #188 Posted July 15, 2018 Warning: picture heavy post. So here it is, my version of a wheel horse loading shovel, many thanks again to Ewan and Mark for supplying the decals. As this was an ‘Industrial’ type of build I went for a different variation on red and off white and was pleased with the result. Because the unit is reversed and has a new shorter bonnet I thought the rear fender decals would be a good fit. After it’s own photo shoot, a couple of stablemates joined in. Hope you like. 7

farmer 1,075 #193 Posted July 15, 2018 I had a play this afternoon, went looking for something heavy to pick up Yep it’s my lawn roller, 36”x18” it’s full of water, don’t know what it weighs, made no difference. No counter weight No wheel weight No ballast No driver !! I’ll get a video up soon. 2

DennisThornton 4,769 #198 Posted July 16, 2018 One of the best builds ever! Deserves its own webpage and you could sell "The Book" to build it. Seriously! (add a forklift option too!) 1
