ajxr 3 #1 Posted April 1, 2017 (edited) morning everybody, 10hp tecumseh on this machine. runs like a top although the carb overflows out of the inlet side. this leads me to believe the float needle/seat are in poor condition. im having a hard time finding parts for this carburetor. from what i can tell this is not be the original carb for this engine. going by the numbers in the casting it says it is a walbro LME 37. also there is a stamp on it of the number 84. guessing thats the year this carb was made? the point of this thread is to ask for info on sourcing parts for this carb or what others would be a direct replacement. ive found "rebuild kits" but none seem to have the float needle and seat that i need. the rubber tip on my current float needle (needle valve?) looks to be ok but she still spews fuel. my local toro/wheel horse dealer tells me they cant figure anything out about it. which seems strange. i even brought them the carb and they tried matching up parts from the shelves with no luck. anyway, thanks for reading. Ed Kennell 40,500 #2 Posted April 1, 2017 There was a Raider 12 made in 1969, but the first 10 was 1970. I have a C-120 with a HH120 Tecumseh but have never had a problem with it, so I don't have any experience with the HHs. A Techy expert should be here soon to offer you advice. Maybe a Kohler 10 carb would fit. to the
wallfish 17,498 #3 Posted April 1, 2017 Try checking the float itself. Sometimes they end up with a hole and fuel enters into it. If you can hear/feel fuel inside when you shake it, that could also be the problem. Did a quick search on epay and I see a master 21 pc kit with the rubber tip needle for a HH100 LME carb. It's listed for a Sears Suburban.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,246 #4 Posted April 1, 2017 If you have a model 1-6041 it is a 1969 model. Toro have it listed as a 1970 model but if you look at the model numbers for each year the 1969 model numbers end in 41 and the 1970 end in 51. The original engine numbers are listed on the D&A page.
