ARK 500 LOADER REBUILD ON A 522XI

Looking at post 1 in this thread, I see that this loader came from a GT-14 originally.  I could use that as an excuse to build that GT, or just keep going on the Xi.  Xi it is!

I have an idea on how the pump will mount.  Now to make it happen!

Horse Fixer had a company local to him cut the pieces.  They came with the loader along with a jump drive.  The drive I thought it was... ended up somehow being a friend’s financial statements!  That was promptly returned to him!  Now if I could find the drive I’m looking for...

Found the jump drive!  Looking through pictures, I realized quick that some of the gussets need to be added still to the bucket brackets.

Before I cut the plates, I figured I’d ask.  @JoeM @Shynon 

 

Does the plate with the large hole look like it could bolt up to the front of the engine?

 @HorseFixer Duke, if you see this... any insight on the big hole plate?

Kevin I think it is for a different configured pump. Something older style with a larger mounting flange.??

 

This was the OE pump bracket I used.

@JoeM thanks for the pics!  In your build I see you mentioned that the engine is tilted back.  I’ll be sure to measure that before I finish the brackets!

The mule/pump mount is finished welding!  Time to deburr it, splash some paint and move on!

I could be wrong but I'm thinking your gonna have to remove material in front of that bracket for the pump pulley.

I thought about that, but decided to leave it as a guard.  I found a random belt that fits everything well, with room for adjustment.

I found some tabs for the mid mount tach-a-matic and some repurpose materials to build the subframe...

The front is tacked up.  Now I’ll slide it under and see how it all looks.

I think I have everything positioned to where I like.  Overkill of a valve?  Naw!!!!

I’ll take a quick lunch break and see how much further I can get.

After measuring my upright location and width, it’s back on the bench.  I cut and drilled some rear crossmembers.  They will get this weight bench bar welded in for permanent weight holders.

I have the second rear crossmember cut and drilled, the upright support cut to length and the angle iron tabs cut as well.

Rear crossmembers are tacked in.  Time for the loader uprights support!

I enjoyed watching Duke work his magic during his part of the build, it’s pretty cool to be able to keep going on it.  I am very excited to put the brute force and hydrostatic power of the Xi together with these hydraulics and create a true worker!

Making progress today...  I’m practicing my TIG welding skills on this one.  It’s not the prettiest by far, but good enough to get dirty.
