T McCool   287 #3 Posted March 22, 2017 Thanks elliot. I'm trying to jump on things quick since my laundry list for projects is growing. The grape vines are getting a nice arbor next.
jellyghost   378 #4 Posted March 22, 2017 I bought a similar aerator this winter, but I wasn't sure about the right time to use it.  Is early spring the best time for this?
T McCool   287 #5 Posted March 22, 2017 In all honesty I have no idea haha. I just chomp at the bit as usual. I believe early spring is a good time to do it though. Makes sense to me at least. My dad has his yard aerated in early april so I just followed that lead😀
LRE   8 #6 Posted April 3, 2017 The lawn gurus say it should be done in months that end in ber, September, October, November  then overseed and fertilizer
cschannuth   3,817 #7 Posted April 3, 2017 You can do it in the spring but most don't if you plan to over seed. This is crabgrass season and crabgrass preventer, which is recommended this time of year, will stop any new grass seed from growing.
T McCool   287 #8 Posted April 3, 2017 Thanks for the tips everyone. I'm new at this haha. No seeding this year just needed to open the ground up, hard pack in places.
