Digger 66 3,478 #1 Posted March 14, 2017 Greetings comrades . A friend of mine ( who wishes to remain anonymous ) wanted me to post this here because he is too chicken . Anyway would anyone be able to help put a price tag on this Cub Cadet ? My thinking is in the neighborhood of $1200.00 > $1400.00 USD . Cub Cadet 169 16hp Kohler, runs great. Hydraulics and 3pt hook up in rear. Great shape with new tires?
953 nut 55,241 #2 Posted March 14, 2017 I see quite a few parts that could be salvaged, painted RED and used to rescue a distressed .
WHX?? 48,815 #3 Posted March 14, 2017 Say cluck cluck to your bro for me Digger! I'D say you are not too far off the mark if your a Cub collector. I would personally start the bidding at say 900 just because I always want something for nothing and top out at 1350. Might very well go much higher than that to a Cub freak. Looks to be well cared for and a decent resto. Unless it's not a resto??? As with our horses that girl was made with our grandfather's steel. No aluminum blocks here! I just always like the way cubs had their Kohlers twisted.
Aldon 4,826 #4 Posted March 14, 2017 I'm digging it!
Achto 27,577 #5 Posted March 14, 2017 Looks like a good solid tractor to me. Your definitely in the ball park with your thought on the price. Of course I like my money in my wallet so I would try for a lower price.
Digger 66 3,478 #6 Posted March 14, 2017 WHX9 I got to thinking about the resto comment after I looked at that muffler.
Adams94 1,068 #7 Posted March 14, 2017 I don't see a 3 point hookup?

Aldon 4,826 #9 Posted March 14, 2017 Personally the higher value for me would be less due to lack of 3 point. I'm thinking you may get that but it would be a Cub collector trying to fill a void in collection. Unless the 3 point hardware is available. That's almost always a 3-400 uplift regardless of color. Red, yellow, green etc
WHX?? 48,815 #10 Posted March 15, 2017 Now see what you started Digger .... the closet Cub fans are coming out in full force!Yes me included! Wasn't there an option to take off the back of the transmission and bolt on a 3pt with a factory kit? You should go incognito to a cub site and pose your questions Digger. Make sure to report back.
Adams94 1,068 #11 Posted March 15, 2017 Tractor data does not mention a optional 3 point. Just sleeve hitch
Aldon 4,826 #12 Posted March 15, 2017 I like tractors. Am averse to closets:-) id like to have that one in my stable. Would like it more with a 3 point through.
Achto 27,577 #13 Posted March 15, 2017 One thing that may affect the price - the CC 169 was only produced in 1974 with a production run of about 4000. Low production number might make it of more value (I wouldn't mention that to the seller though)
Amcwheel85 2,059 #14 Posted March 15, 2017 I've had a few cubs and the 169 is one of the rarest cubs they made. That one is beautiful. Everyone is right on with price. If it was a 149 or 129 price would prolly be 600-1000 in that condition if it's as nice in person as in pic. Sometimes pictures hide a lot defects you see in person..
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,496 #15 Posted March 15, 2017 That one doesn't have a 3 point on it. Most Cubs of that era had a sleeve hitch option, which are easily found if you wanted to add one. Extrememotorworks, does offer a 3 point though, as an aftermarket option. http://www.xtrememotorworks.com/Parts Catalog/3-Point-Kits-Cub-Cadet.html To me, the price is too high.
