Schrumgmc 150 #1 Posted February 25, 2017 When I push down on the parking brake it goes faster? Anyone have that happen? What could it be? We just put a new drive belt on it
Ed Kennell 37,954 #2 Posted February 25, 2017 Do you have the new belt under or over the idler pulley?
Schrumgmc 150 #3 Posted February 26, 2017 I believe under? Should it be over it?

Schrumgmc 150 #6 Posted February 26, 2017 It's a Charger 10. Automatic drive, when I push down on the parking brake it goes a lot faster but when I let off it goes slow as hell. I think the belt routing is wrong?

pfrederi 17,627 #10 Posted February 26, 2017 (edited) Did this just happen?? Check the spring (goes from the idler pulley linkage to the brake arm coming out of the tranny.)did it break /stretch?? When you push down on the brake lever you are helping the spring put tension on the belt when you release there may be slippage if the spring is bad. (Note the belt passes under the idler pulley) Edit Second picture give a better view of teh spring. That spring is all there is to apply tension to the drive belt Edited February 26, 2017 by pfrederi
