Rustyred 63 #1 Posted February 25, 2017 Hello again, We've cleaned our transmission up nicely and are ready to replace the two axle bearings. We removed the damaged ones a couple weeks ago and have the new ones ready to put in. A have a question: how far in should I push the axle bearing? There is nothing to push it up against so it is not obvious how far in to the housing to push it. The tractor is a C-81 with a transmission model 103916. Thanks to whoever can help. pfrederi 17,903 #2 Posted February 25, 2017 I do not have one open right now but I thought that they usually stopped on their own. in any event a 1/2" recess from the end of the housing will give you more than enough room for the seal.

lynnmor 7,356 #4 Posted February 25, 2017 The last one I did had no shoulder. I pushed it in allowing room for the seal plus a little bit more.
