Any more thoughts on a show cover for the transmission?

I think I'm just going to bring a photo album along for this year.  That'll gimme some time to kick around some ideas on a cover with a window.

@Achto The work that you have done is first class.I enjoyed the video. Do you have any plans to research the attachments ( if any) that could be purchased with the McLean  and perhaps purchase or make them?

I have pic's of a front blade and a rear blade for these tractors. I have been kicking around making a rear blade, if for nothing else but to use as an emergency brake. Looking at the design I believe that the shaft that hangs out of the transmission on the right hand side may have been used for the PTO, but I have not found any info on PTO driven implements yet. I'll always be on the look out for any information on McLean. I did find an old post on another forum that was done by a McLean descendent, unfortunately he has not been active on that forum for a long while so no luck in contacting him.

I just found this thread-that turned out great!! The workmanship is first class. I really appreciate the amount of time it took to make some of those parts and how nice they turned out.

Thanks for sharing the pics and videos.

I was glad to have found a post that linked to this post, because this is quite an awesome rebuild of a classic!  It scoots pretty good, too!  Well done, Dan!

If we can ever talk you into attending Garden Tractor Daze in Portage WI, I'll have to let you take it for a cruise. Might be some apple cobbler to enjoy too.;)

What’s the date for the 2019 show Dan?  I recall seeing WH was a feature tractor at one of the Mid-West events, was this the one?

That’s a neat little tractor! Most people wouldn’t have touched it in the state it was in when you found it, it’s got another couple decades ahead of it now!

I just found another McLean for sale on the Indianapolis and Muncie CL sites.

It's actually located in Ladoga, Indiana.  https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ladoga,+IN+47954/@39.9166496,-87.0771221,10z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x886cd33e013892cf:0x1dc016ad7909d8c8!8m2!3d39.9136554!4d-86.8011182

It appears to be missing a few parts (like the grill), but it appears to be fairly complete otherwise.

" Runs and operates as it should. It's complete minus the grill"

The logo on the side of the hood is especially interesting, IMO.

Thanks!! I've had a few people inform me of this one. I would like to own this one but the price is waayyy out of my reach, specially with the travel time figured in.

I do like the decal on the hood but I'm not sure if it would be right for mine. :eusa-think: Then again with so little info available, what's right?? The hood on that tractor is a different shape than mine. It opens from the front instead of from the back. All the other pictures that I have seen have the hood attached to the grill and hinged at the bottom of the grill like mine has. In fact that is the first picture of that style of hood that I've seen. I'm very intrigued by the one for sale & wish I knew what the grill looked like from the factory.

I know they are rare, but I couldn't agree with you more. 2G's? Huh? rotfl.gif.148306eb2d2e0923dc8fe3d020517f2e.gifumm.gif.7a3516389fe7f58ec6a021e906bc81c7.gif

The seller must be roaching some really good weed to come up with that price......or is still on a drunk that started before Christmas......

Hell may freeze over before he finds a buyer.

If you like the logo, maybe @Vinylguy could come up with a couple of transfers for you, based on the pic and maybe some dimensions of your hood.

Just an idea......

I'd say with something that rare, there are no hard and fast rules......

I've just read this all the way through. Fantastic job you've made of it, Dan. :bow-blue: I do like the differential idea. So simple.

It's not quite that fast.:). With a top speed of about 15mph it will leave a stock Cub Cadet 782 in the dust though. Oh yea, did I mention that there are no brakes! Not a factory option to my knowledge.
