No its not a Wheel horse nor was it modeled after a Wheel Horse. Your probably right, its a Snapper.

Obviously someone has a bunch of these tractors and some real small stickers cause this thing keeps showing up on E-bay.

But all us serious Wheel Horse guys here on Redsquare know its a fake and stay away from it.....I hope  .

Mike......

Yeah, this same seller has sold those before in the past and was caught then trying to pass a Snapper for a Wheel Horse. There's been a couple of threads here on that guy and those fake toy Wheel Horses before.

I thought I read about that also about a month and a half ago here.

I do not recall if it was ever discussed.

Was there a toy wheel horse made by ertle?

And if so.... Could we see a comparison of

this fake and the real thing?

Yes, Mike, it has been discussed here before (throwing hands up in the air smilie inserted here). At least twice before in the past. Here's the link from last time: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?...6576&hl=snapper

Also included in the above link is another link from when this was discussed last.

this seller is bold stating

YOU ARE LOOKING AT A WHEEL HORSE C-101 GARDEN TRACTOR MADE BY ERTL

wow what false advertizement...Looks like people like this should be reported!!

What not just state what is really is? It looks pretty cool and it would still sell just by doing the right thing.

Mike (Teddy da Bear)... No, Ertl never made a Wheel Horse tractor. There is the common silver semi by Nylint , the little plastic late 60s square head model that was in the MPC Indy car kit, and there are the red and yellow Auburn rubber 551 and implements from the Nylint #7000 Lawn & Garden set from 1964. Other than a few pedal tractors and some advertising pieces, I am unaware of any other official Wheel Horse toys.

Mike (stonehenge)... yep, false advertising, but reporting it to ebay doesn't do any good. It's been reported before, but the listing never gets taken down. I just feel sorry for the people purchasing it thinking it is actually some rare collectible. (Especially if it's someone thinking their buying a really good gift for a collector!) Without going back to look... I think the last one just before Christmas brought like $100 or something.

Winross did a semi too, but I don't know if it was an "official" toy/collectible.

The Wheel Horse / Snapper (I think it might be a Snapper BUT I ain't sure) was made in Ohio. The die cast tractor was just redecaled as a Wheel Horse (I guess the Snapper didn't sell  ) .

In the mid to late 60's Nylint produced a toy truck called Lawn Service set and with the truck you got a small red or yellow Wheel Horse Suburban 1961 551 with 7 attachments ( a front cutter bar, a roller, a sweeper, a dump cart, a aerator, snow plow and a man). These plastic tractors was not labled as a Wheel Horse but it is unmistakable for any other brand.

Each time this guy attempts to sell one of these fakes.

You could use craigslist "lawn and garden" section in his

home town area and just make a report of what you think

of this. People who look at ebay usually look at craigslist too.

His reputation should soon be spoiled.
