Lane Ranger 11,125 #1 Posted January 6, 2017 I took a chance and bought a 1500 Watt portable Kohler generator powered by a K91 T 4 HP motor the other day. Changed the spark plug, points and put a new carb on it and she started right up. Produces electricty fine. Oil was real clean in it and it has a small oil leak around the shaft connecting to the alternator/generaotr portion (probably oil seal). I will paint it up and change the top light (I bought an original replacement Chicago #491 auto lamp) that lights when it is generating. Has both 110 and 220 plugs! This was owned by the Uninversity of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana.

Lane Ranger 11,125 #6 Posted January 6, 2017 I think I am going to paint it the Kohler Blue which some tell me that Duplicolor Spruce Metallic cc392 (A Chrysler color) is close to the original.

Lane Ranger 11,125 #9 Posted January 7, 2017 Craig: You don't happen to have an operating manual for that generator do you? I could use a copy. I posted a pic of mine on a Kohler motor blog Kohler has on Facbook and they contacted me as I said I could use a manual. I have not heard back from them. These were produced in the 1960's from whjat I coudl determine.

953 nut 57,885 #13 Posted January 13, 2017 I picked one like yours up a few years ago at a swap meet, K-90 with great tins, recoil starter Updraft oil filled air cleaner (not pictured) and the shower head muffler; paid $ 50.00, hope I didn't overpay!
Lane Ranger 11,125 #14 Posted January 13, 2017 Very kool find Richard! Looks real complete . I see a showerhead muffler too on that one! Did you get a Operating Manual with it? I am looking to get a copy of one. Lane Ralph
