Ny Horse 28 #1 Posted January 4, 2017 Hey guys, Have'nt been down to look at this yet but seems like a pretty good deal for $200. owner says won't start and has been sitting for awhile but motor turns over fine.Probably needs a carb kit. Says Deck has few holes but Tractor is in great shape. It's a C-125............
rmaynard 15,383 #2 Posted January 4, 2017 It's not a C-125. C-125 is a black hood. Looks like a C-120. I'd go prepared to pay $200, but start with a lower offer. Just my 2 cents worth.
Sparky-(Admin) 21,254 #3 Posted January 4, 2017 Its not a C-125....maybe a C120?? But for $200 it looks like a good deal, any room to negotiate? Mike..........

Thanks Mike, yes it's a C-120 just verified and all I can do is make an offer and see what happens😉
rmaynard 15,383 #5 Posted January 4, 2017 Good luck. You won't go wrong even at $200.00.
jellyghost 378 #6 Posted January 4, 2017 I would buy it for 200, but the chain and the leaning deck make me cringe. It is asking for some cosmetic body damage. Otherwise, the paint looks great.

Yes, it does look pretty good......and I was thinking the same thing about the chain😩 But maybe they are tire chains😃

Ed Kennell 37,870 #13 Posted January 4, 2017 (edited) The only thing that scares me with a non runner is not being able to check the Sundstrand hydro. A bad hydro is sometimes the reason these tractors are parked. Having said that, you still cant go wrong for $200....that deck is worth that if the spindles are good. If, I mean when you pick it up, open the tow valve on the tranny before you move it. Edited January 4, 2017 by Ed Kennell
Retired Wrencher 5,424 #14 Posted January 5, 2017 Ed. Has some good points there. Check the dip stick see what color and smell it. Make sure it does not smell burnt. If you have a jump box get a spark tester to see if you have any. Cheap at Harbor freight. I always carry one with me when I go looking. Take your time when looking. Check the oil and see what that looks like. See the condition of the wiring. This will be a good start.
rmaynard 15,383 #15 Posted January 5, 2017 I don't know that it's a hydro. Could be, but after lightening and enhancing the image of the label on the side, it looks to me to be an 8-speed.
Ed Kennell 37,870 #16 Posted January 5, 2017 I believe you are right Bob. Much less risk with an 8 speed. Definitely a keeper.
