Little 308-8 2 #1 Posted December 12, 2016 Good evening, well I was all excited to use my (new to me this summer) snowblower and the belt snapped 2 passes in. I have a 308-8 with a 34 inch wide blower. I really need help on a belt size from pto to blower. No numbers on old one and I think it was on the small side, was really hard to get on. I was giving the little 8 hp a work out when the belt went. Thanks for any help. Love the site, been reading posts all summer.
benji756 341 #2 Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) toif you have the model number of the blower you should be able to find the owners manual in the manual section here, if not I'm sure someone will be along to help you. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,032 #3 Posted December 12, 2016 Welcome to the forum. The model sold 1984-87 for your tractor was this one 42" wide but that includes the extension wings. 37" without them so don't know what model you have. 5/8" x 69" is the size listed and requires a belt designed to bend backwards over a flat idler. A green Gates belt from Napa is one. An earlier 32" model used a 1/2" x 66" belt and attached to the tractor frame with a long bolt. Garry

It is an 86 and I measured the blower across the back along the main drive shaft. I have the wings but pretty sure with this wet heavy stuff my little 8 would struggle. I didn't see any numbers on the blower, but I was outside last night looking. Prob missed it. I have the old belt so at least the numbers get me something to call around on. Thanks Guys.
