mikeeyre74 289 #1 Posted December 4, 2016 Taking apart my C120 automatic, vintage 1976 and surprised to see that is has threaded axles and bolts to hold the front wheels on. I've got a '77 C120 that uses circlips just like all the other machines I've ever had. Was that the changeover year? Or does it have something to do with the automatic models? gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,133 #4 Posted December 5, 2016 The C-Series parts lists show the 908003 bolt up to and including 1976. 1977 went to a retaining ring. Replacements for the 1974-76 likely used a retaining ring after this time. Garry

pfrederi 17,973 #6 Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) The bolts are special they have a plastic insert that acts a thread locker. That is important for the left side especially.. don't ask me how I know this.....(Why old time cars and trucks had left handed threads on the driver side wheels) Edited December 5, 2016 by pfrederi
mikeeyre74 289 #7 Posted December 5, 2016 Everything on this tractors so filthy.. I didn't even see anything unusual about them like that. I'll have to take a closer look when I get back to that part of the rebuild.
