MalMac 1,331 #1 Posted November 27, 2016 I believe that this was discussed sometime ago on here. I picked up some rear flush wheel weights from a friend that said his dad got them when he bought a tractor new back in the late 80's. The parts manual does list them as part 81117. I have never seen them before. So here's a pic of what I got. Has anyone ever seen these before?
AMC RULES 37,130 #2 Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) Always thought they were Jacobsen weights... where mine came from. Heavy suckers too. Edited November 27, 2016 by AMC RULES
MalMac 1,331 #3 Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) I am wondering if they were just a generic weight that a lot of manufacturers used. Wheel Horse just assigned there own part number to them. Why would Wheel Horse allowed for a outer valve stem hole if they were just designed for Wheel Horse, providing if that is what that hole is for? JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,497 #4 Posted November 27, 2016 How many pounds do they weigh? I like that flush on the rim look. Glenn
KC9KAS 4,741 #5 Posted November 27, 2016 Don't know who made them or what brand, but I wish I had a couple of sets!

I did a search they were made for Jacobson Chief. I like them to, that flush look. Glenn

MalMac 1,331 #9 Posted November 27, 2016 So do we have Pic of the flush ones made by Wheel Horse.
squonk 41,040 #10 Posted November 27, 2016 I don't even think Wheel Horse made the weights. I picked up a set of Cub Cadet rear weights that according to the owner came on the tractor brand new. They are exactly the same as the ones that came on WH. I got em cheap because the Horsie guys on CL didn't bother to open the ad!
KC9KAS 4,741 #11 Posted November 27, 2016 Like I said before...some companies made the carts, garden plows, weights and other accessories and painted them orange, yellow, blue, red and every other color in the rainbow with "brand correct" decals and we are now coming across some of them and wishing they were (mine) ours! Thanks for posting them.
WVHillbilly520H 10,373 #12 Posted November 27, 2016 Got mine from a JD dealer 65-75# ea (I made the aluminum "center caps") but they were rather thick almost bottomed out on the 520 wheels,Jeff.
formariz 11,987 #13 Posted November 28, 2016 I have three sets of them here, the last one found at the show. They look great like a hubcap, weigh 55LBS each and are the easiest weights ever to mount. They pretty much stay in wheel as you put bolts through. Always on the lookout for more but they don't show up often.

CasualObserver 3,408 #15 Posted November 29, 2016 I'm pretty sure these are the original flush weights sold under part number 81117. *pic courtesy of @TT I remember seeing a set or two of these for sale at the PA show from Bill Jenkins with tags that said "original 1969 WH weights" Perhaps they offered both these and the ones below at the same time? I don't know. I do know 81117 was still a good part number for cast iron rear 12" weights like the ones pictured below until recently. They like so many parts have now gone NLA. The latest version of fronts is still available 81214, but I don't have a current picture. Around $160-180 depending on where you get them... and I think they were painted black. Would sure be nice if someone had some old sales catalogs that had pictures of all the accessories. Problem is that most times they were just lists in the dealer book. No pics.

Glenn Actually none of them came from NJ. Two sets found at the Wheelhorse Show and the first set years back at Jacktown. The other great thing about them is that the most expensive ones were $70.00, the others $65.00 and $55.00.
Lane Ranger 10,947 #17 Posted April 12, 2022 In 1996 a set of the 81117 Wheel Horse flush mount weights went for $145.00 based upon the West Virginia sales receipt for a 1996 314-8.
