cafoose 3,354 #1 Posted November 27, 2016 I have a 1968 Commando 8 and I tried to put my 876 blade on it and the rear frame touches the inside sidewalls of the Commando rear tires. I found out later when I measured it the 876 rear wheels are 4 inches further apart than the Commando. What type of blade does the Commando use? Are they hard to find? The commando already had the rear blade mount on it when I got it.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,032 #2 Posted November 27, 2016 Here is the blade listed for the 1968 Commando 8 Looks like it was replaced by this one later in the 1968 model year. This was the first one to fit both the short tractor frame and long tractor frame models. Garry

You may be able to turn them around and get a bit more width out of them.

cafoose 3,354 #5 Posted November 27, 2016 I just measured both the 876 and the Commando. From one end of the case to the other end on the Commando it measures 20 1/2 and on the 876 it measures 22 1/2 so the trans-axle is 2 inches wider on the 876 . The Commando is a 3 speed and the 876 is a hydro. I have a set of ag tires on rims that have a 1 1/2 inset on the inside from the sidewall to the center of the rim. The tires on the Commando and the 876 have a 2 1/2 inset. I'm thinking if I put the ags on the Commando the blade will work.
