ohiofarmer 3,276 #1 Posted November 24, 2016 (edited) I had tried about everything on this wheel, thinking it was just rust that was holding it on. Freeze-off is my weapon of choice for stuff like this as it is moderately priced and performs as well as Kroil. I had applied it many times and even tried heat and loosening the lugs and then kicking the thing sideways a few times. Probably not the best plan in terms of possibly damaging a seal or even breaking a hub.I decided to make a puller that would not strain any part of the transmission The puller just fastens to the wheel weight holes and then a threaded rod pushed against a large socket large enough to push on the wheel hub without pushing on the axle shaft. i used a smaller socket to fill the square drive as it was a one inch drive socket. As it turned out, the wheel center was so tight around the hub that I wonder if someone put an off brand wheel on the tractor. The threaded rod in the center was pretty weak for the task, but it did get the job done. Not shown in these pictures is that I did remove the lug nuts when pulling the wheel Just say no to sledge hammers! 953 nut 55,892 #2 Posted November 24, 2016 Others on here have reported good results with backing out the lug bolts a couple of turns each and then driving in a figure eight pattern to apply side load in both directions as well as some vibration.

ohiofarmer 3,276 #5 Posted November 25, 2016 (edited) None of that stuff would have worked. To get the wheel back on, i had to actually file out the wheel center a bit. You could actually see that the wheel center had two plies of metal.. That makes me wonder if it was a repurposed wheel from some other brand that was bored out. The wheel came from a C121 that I am re-painting Edited November 25, 2016 by ohiofarmer spelling
